Re: Fire & Rescue Picture Thread
Here is my x fire. Picked this up from a local gov auction that I flip cars from. I was gonna sell it originally, but its too cool to let go. I pulled the springs out and threw some bags in it until it gets the full PB treatment.
OK, enough whoring my truck out. |

Re: Fire & Rescue Picture Thread
Hers's my '71 Jimmy "play-actin' " the part of a rescue rig on the set of "The Kingdom" in Mesa, 2006. I was working as Set Medic for the propmakers [carps].
Fake plastic Saudi license plate. Red Crescent on one of the ambulances before the explosions. Small compact ricegrinder embedded into the 2nd floor of Base Housing type structure after the ''terrorists'' blew it all up. Shot in Mesa, AZ since going to the actual Riyadh, Saudi Arabia wasn't considered safe. Much cooler, too. Only 118* F in Mesa.

Re: Fire & Rescue Picture Thread
That's a good one. It may have mailbox stickers rather than gold leaf, but it's got the good accessories like dual spots, grille guard, and wheels (and no lights mounted on roof). looks like that tank put a hurtin' on those springs over the years. Imagine that

How many would remember that call sign, I wonder. Best show ever. Too bad it was a Dodge D300 though-Not one of our clan. Cool video of them re-enacting

If you rent your truck out to the movies, some FX guy might want to blow it up. Ol' Blue Thunder has gotten screen time in one reality show and one art film. The first instance because the camera panned thru the crew parking lot. On "Goats" with David Duchovney, they saw me drive up to work and asked if they could film my truck. The only perq was that I got to park right at the downtown location, not 2 blocks away in the crew swamp. And even then the camera only started on an ECU of both drivers-side headlamps and then zoomed back and panned right to pick up the actors driving up 2 spaces to the right in a Volvo. My GMC's 30 seconds of fame.

Re: Fire & Rescue Picture Thread
That's what I meant, it was a real ambulance, not a movie one. It surely deserves a spot in this thread

Re: Fire & Rescue Picture Thread
In the early 80s I was an EMT and worked full-time in an 85 C20 Box ambulance and part-time worked rescue at a racetrack out of a 70 Suburban. Good times.

Re: Fire & Rescue Picture Thread
Here's one that was for sale here in Sweden. I was tempted but never went to look at it.
It appears to be built on a pickup and not a Suburban or panel, at least it has pickup doors.

Re: Fire & Rescue Picture Thread
Here's one from Vermont that used to be a fire truck and he restored it to a work truck. It was featured in Hemmings Classic Car a few months ago

Re: Fire & Rescue Picture Thread
Us old retired FFs love this thread, although some of my GM fire trucks weren't that old, many were antiques still in service like our American LaFrance and Seagraves, but fun. When we complained our old engine 83 was slow the Chief Fire Mechanics response was put in a big cam and headers on the small block, hilarious! 1 ton dually Fire Truck with big lumpy cam. Always drew funny looks.

Re: Fire & Rescue Picture Thread
Hello. I built it. I have had it for sale on and off for awhile. Very little interest believe it or not. I have owned it on and off for years. It keeps coming back, like herpes, but much more pleasant.
