Re: 1980 C-10 Low buck build.

Here is the update!
A little preview...

Went down to olympia to pick up a donor truck, came back with this...

Then tore it apart and got everything we wanted and took it down to the scrapyard and got 250 bucks out of it.
Before and after:

Threw on the 780 quadrajet
Also, custom chevelle hubcap space needle aircleaner.

Cory is making good use of the door.

Taking these parts to insidious 86 tomorrow.

Re: 1980 C-10 Low buck build.

Hopefully soon I can put that hydro boost to use in my rig and get some great braking again and not worry about any cam I throw in there and that sm465 should be some fun in my stepper. Truck looked good today

We are located just north of everett.
So 4 hours.
We make trips over to moses lake sand dunes a few times per year however.

Re: 1980 C-10 Low buck build.

The interior is pretty decent for a ride of that age. Did you have to do a lot to get it there? Motor transplant, light back end; traction? Probably not as much as would be desired. Would I have swapped the motor? Hell yeah!

Now onto a serious safety issue. When are you going to change the glass in that thing so that you can see clearly? I know you're in Washington state and all, but don't they require you to have at least a windshield that you can see through?

This picture was taken in the morning before the truck had been driven. that is just streams of water that rolled down the windshield from the rain.

My windshield is very new.

Thumbs up Re: 1980 C-10 Low buck build.

I'm sorry my attempts at humor don't always come across so well. I am in Texas and we don't see much of that stuff that is on your windows! That was the blunt of the whole comment my friend!
I personally have relatives in the Seattle/Bremerton area so I am know about the rain issue that you have, as well as rust!
Love your truck! Keep after it and all will be well!

Just a few hours worth. Cory fabbed up a switch panel that I will mount to block off the radio and use it for my fan and interior light.

Re: 1980 C-10 Low buck build.

Very nice. Why front shocks on the rear? Fronts usually have way stiffer valving which isn't necessarily good for a low rear weight truck

That is rattle can primer. This stuff. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs...FSmCQgodmEIARA

Much cheaper at walmart! Used about 6 cans for a good thick coat.
