I was able to get under there and get a measurement today. From the same starting point as in my pic above the hole is at 3.5"

I might have missed it if it was posted because I'm mobile, but I'm going to do this upgrade and I want to use this system for the 69-72 where they went to the floor pedal instead of a handle.

I kind of like the handle on my 67 but often thought it would be nice to have a few gauges mounted in that location.
