One cool fire truck there. I light the high mount spotlights. And thanks for sharing the emblem

Re: Hood & fender emblems

Does anyone know if a 66 Custom Camper will interchange with a 66 C20 emblem? Are the holes the same?

Re: Hood & fender emblems

Hello, I bought a 1964 C-10 Custom Suburban, and it has 3 holes on the side of the hood near the front tires, its a 3 hole triangular pattern and I can't seem to find an emblem that goes there, thinking the hood may be off of a GMC, but the V6 emblems I see only have 1 prong, not 3? Anybody have a similar hood?

Which year would these be from? I also have a set like this minus the "Magnum" script and lightning bolts.

Are your turn signal lights rectangle or does the inside edge angle up? May not have been badges there, could have been something else a P.O. installed.

are the holes on both sides or just one? might have been a turn signal mount. i have seen them installed on the hoods and fender extensions

Re: Hood & fender emblems

nope, holes on both sides,

Also, turn signals are rectangle....looking at the web pics, looks like GMC's turn up, I see what your getting at, can't be a GMC hood, I learn something everyday on this site! Thanks...

looks like 66-68, that does not have the big angle to it like a 60-66, it looks flat, so I am thinking 67-68?

here is some info:
The 477.7-cubic-inch (7,828 cc) 478 was one of the largest V6 engines ever built. Gross output was 235 hp (175 kW) at 3200 rpm and 440 lb·ft (597 Nm) at 1400 rpm. Bore was 5.125 in (130.2 mm) and stroke was 3.86 in (98 mm). It was introduced in 1963 in the 6500 series trucks.

It was superseded by the 1966 478M "Magnum" series, and production ended by 1974. Gross output was now 254 hp (189 kW) at 3700 rpm and 442 lb·ft (599 Nm) at 1400 rpm.

Re: Hood & fender emblems

Ok, have a new addition. The 1960 & 61 hood jets (ornaments). Here are a few pics from different threads and a few from one that I just got. The shorter nose is the GMC and the longer nose is the Chevy version

Re: Hood & fender emblems

Here's a thread I started a few years back regarding an emblem I milled that was based on the Apache 10 script from the 1960 hood emblem.

I wonder how hard the "Diesel" badges on the hood are to find?

Re: Hood & fender emblems

My 64 C10 has perfectly aligned holes on left and right side cowling(s) but I have yet to come across what emblem may have been there. Somewhat new to this so go easy.

We would come up to a stop years ago riding 3abreast like that and me being in the passenger seat I would bend down like I was tying my shoe and it would look like driver and pivot man were sitting cozily next to each other.

The truck is a General Motors Argentina D-200. My Spanish isn't that good but as far as I can tell, It's a 1/2 ton short stepside, BBW with a 4 cylinder diesel. 4 speed transmission, 16" wheels and 2 batteries. The only options I see are a radio, heater and locking rear end or "steering lock" not sure. I have the brochure scanned. I can't seem to shrink it down enough to post. If anyone would like it just PM me with email address and I'll send the pdf.

Sounds to me like you have cowlings off of an earlier model that had emblems placed higher. The cowlings can be swapped from 60-66. Also there were a lot of dealers that installed dealer emblems in these locations.

Re: Hood & fender emblems

I thought D-series was a dodge designation even in the foreign trucks.
