Re: vintage camper shells
I found a shell for my '66 last month after running a WTB ad on marketplace for a couple of months. No idea who made it, there are no markings on it anywhere. The previous owner had bought a '65 or '66 F100 and the people he bought it from said it had been on the F100 since new or nearly new.
Plans are to insulate it and finish the inside with period correct wood paneling. I've started building a half wall that I can sit in the tailgate opening when the tailgate is dropped that will mount a small window AC unit for camping in the summer.

Damn that looks killer Astronaut! Almost a twin to my truck with the canopy I just finished.

Re: vintage camper shells
It looks fantastic.
I was also very lucky and found what, I think is a great camper top, which is also in great condition, I am very happy about that. We put in a camper box to get a nice bed on a weekend.

Re: vintage camper shells
I have an opportunity to buy this... but $1000 seems a little steep.

Re: vintage camper shells
Thanks! Is that a truck cab window panel grafted to the front of the camper cover?

Re: vintage camper shells
I've only been into them for a few months now but the earlier style aluminum ones like that with the simple pleated style ribs vs the later corrugated style seem to be more desirable and worth more, I don't think the price is that far off if it's in good condition. They seem to be getting popular pretty quickly, they don't last long at all on marketplace anymore. My newer style cover was listed at $400 and they said they had tons of messages about it, I think I could easily get $500-600 if I listed it.

Re: vintage camper shells
That trailer looks like one I put together and sold about 30 years ago.
