Are you wanting the full 304SS version, or the 409SS system with 304SS mufflers?

The 409/304 is fine....no plans for bad weather driving.

Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
Hi Toddoky,
Any plans in the near future to test fit any of these swaps parts for 73-87 4x4 K10 trucks, or develop some swap parts specifically for 4x4 square bodies? I'm building a 1979 GMC Sierra Grande currently and getting ready to put a LY6 6.0L LS engine in it backed up by a 4L80e. It's a K10 but I'm throwing a one-ton running gear underneath it with the Dana 60 axle in front and Corporate 14-bolt in back, both with 4.11 gears. I'd love to have a nice set of stainless steel full length headers, transmission crossmember, direct fit exhaust system with side exit etc. etc. for 4x4 trucks. I love the C10's but they don't do so well in a Montana winter. Best, Jeremy |

I haven't heard of any plans to develop specific components for the 4x4 applications at this stage Jeremy and it would be tough to do anything beyond engine mounts and headers due to all the different transmission, transfer case and rear axle combinations used by everyone. The C10 Hooker components definately won't fit.

Do you know of any header applications that people have been trying for totally different vehicles that may fit with a little coersion into the K10's? I'll likely have to try that because I don't think I can afford custom built headers unless you know some place that will do it for $1,000 or less. Cheapest I found so far was $2,450 from stainlessheaders.com. Ouch! Or do you think a shorty, block hugger header or factory manifold off say the Corvette might be the ticket? |

Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
Toddoky , Been looking for some 3" tailpipes over the axle side exit behind the tire. I see the ls swap kit in 3" has a nice looking set ( 70501415 ) . Whats the chances I can buy the tailpipe by it self . I have the rest of what I need just need the tailpipes .

Also do you have a picture of how much needs to be notched? |

Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
The OE compressor number is 10S17F (the larger displacement 10S20F was also used in some applications). I don't have a picture of the notch...you only have to notch the flange lip on the front of the mount frame bracket.

Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
Toddoky,
Would you have the dimension for the distance from the verticle centerline of the engine to the outside edge of the compressor for the 20-133 r4 mount and 20-134 for Sanden mount? I can't find them on the Holley website. Thank you! |

Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
Thank you. That would be very helpful in determining if those brackets will fit in the earlier trucks without cutting into the inner fenders. Your competitors have those dimensions readily available.

Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
Todd,
I placed a order through summit racing for the hooker exhaust system 11-17-15. Just got a email with expected ship date of 1-27-16. Does it really take 3 months to build a exhaust system? |

Re: Hooker 73-87 GM truck LS swap system
I ordered my thru summit as well first of Dec . Summit did say its to ship in Jan when I ordered . I too just got a email from summit that they have not heard from the manufacturer on a ship date yet . So not sure when it will arrive . I would like to know if is going to be another month or so .
I would expect the holidays slowed things down . Also must of not had any stock at all on hand . |
