And right you are. I didn't get half done to this thing this weekend because I am waiting for paint to dry. Thank you humidity.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
I'd take some of your rain for ya! This heat isn't bringing much rain. We have no shortage of humidity though. It's about the same as far as bare metal here. It gets hard to paint any thing too, unless you have the proper facility. Which I don't.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
We are going to try and make it this year. Worst case it might be for just one day (Saturday) but that's better than not making it at all.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
An old mechanic once showed me his shop cooler. He took a truck radiator and ran his well water through it. With his huge squirrel cage fan it will freeze you out on 100* + days. But in montana we think it gets humid when it hits 25%

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
thats the thing i was talking about , it would actually pull the humminity down too as most air condences on the radiator and drops of as water

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
We just got a small swamp cooler at work. Our shop has one bay 35'x85' and another that is 35'x30'. The ceiling is 25' or higher. We have been using the cooler the past week and a half. The side that the cooler is blowing on does feel a little better. The side that the water exchanger is on feels like a green house. So as long as you're in the area of the air it blows out, you're ok.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
His well water must be super cold! A car radiator wouldn't cut it here.

It's about 50* degrees out of my well. The deeper you go, the colder it gets (to a point).

You are almost there why make more work for yourself? I know I can't stop myself either! I had a hell of a brain fart the other day. We have a couple mid 40s 1 1/2 ton GMC trucks and not enough good front sheet metal. I was thinking It wouldnt be that hard to make a shorter version of a ww2 duece and a half using dodge 1ton parts. Call it a half duece. It would match my 42 jeep. Now all i need is a 4 bamger perkins for the jeep |
