Re: Vintage picture thread

My 77' Chevy Sport that I bought brand new. After a couple of years I took stripes off and had it repainted with Imron paint.

Re: Vintage picture thread

Love ALL the vintage pics just not sure why square bodies are being added considering this is the 67-72 area of the board. There is a great vintage pics thread going over in square body area. I know I know Im probably the only one asking this

Here are some I found looking at some old drag racing photos.

Re: Vintage picture thread

I guess qualifys as Vintage now. First truck bought in 2001 and Car Show pics when I first seen it at a local show in 1997/98. Outside pics and interior are when first bought it in 2001. Kept it till 2014 and between this site and tinkering with the truck gained lots of knowledge about the 67-72's.

Cool Re: Vintage picture thread

I was going through several hundred vintage family slides, and I made quite a discovery. I found a couple of good background shots of my 1970 Blazer. These are from Saturday August 20, 1977 during my 2nd birthday celebration.

Re: Vintage picture thread

1970cstblazer-- Looks like your Dad had dual Cop Spots, a CB Whip antenna, and a pair of those stainless steel rear window wind deflectors.
My Dad's '64 Olds wagon had those too. I still have them somewhere. JC Whitney item, I think.
I have CB antennae on both my '68 C/10 Stepside and '67 K/10 Suburban. No 2-way rigs right now.
I have a Unity Cop Spot for my '71 Jimmy, and the Unity P/N: 202 -- A Pillar Bracket for 67/72 GM trucks, but I'm waiting until I get the Roll Bar mounted.

Yes he used it in his service with the Fire Dept. and his role as Constable. The wind deflectors were needed to keep the back window clear of dust. They live on a dirt road.

Great photo and a great color Blazer. I spy 16.5" wheels, probably 10-16.5 tires.

Yes, indeed.

When that pic was taken in August of 1977, the Blazer had it's original 10.00"-16.5" Goodyear Custom Xtra Grip tires on it.

I still have the original spare mounted in the rear, Unfortunately the almost 55-year-old tire's rubber is checked. It's holds air just fine but would not want to drive on it for long.

Re: Vintage picture thread

If we are including cars now, here are some shots of my 65 Chevelle from the Winter of 65/66 when it was still fairly new. It is an original L79 car. It has the dealer installed option N98 wheels still on it. They were later replaced with 69 SS Chevelle wheels which is what it still has on it today. I occasionally put on the original steel wheels and SS hubcaps.

Nice! I had a '64 SS Malibu. I wish I still had it. The guy I sold it to, his kid crashed while high on pills.

How did the GTO do at the track (looks like you were going or had gone drag racing)?

That's the Division 3 NHRA B/Stock record holder (5 times) for 1965.

Best ET was 12.23 @ 118mph in B/MP trim.
