Re: Project Git-R-Done - 72 K25
Thanks, I've got alot of orangepeel in it, now I've got to learn how to cut and buff the clear to take that out. Then it'll look great.

Did some color sanding on the roof. Looks good if I say so myself.

Re: Project Git-R-Done - 72 K25
Hey guys, I haven't updated the thread in a while, I ended up repraying some of the base and then hitting it with another three coats of clear.
I've been color sanding the new coats of clear and have gotten some really good results this time around. Ron

Re: Project Git-R-Done - 72 K25
Ok I got the passenger door and fender color sanded and buffed, rolled it outside for a look. Tomorrow I'll do the hood and cowl and then that's it for the cut and buff.

Re: Project Git-R-Done - 72 K25
Ok so tonight I finished up buffing the hood and did as much as I can do on the cowl without mounting it. Next is a few bits and pieces and then assembly starts.

Re: Project Git-R-Done - 72 K25
Thanks! I made my list of things left to paint and was surprised at how many little things are left:
- Steering Column - body color? or gloss black - gauge cluster - body color - glove box door - body color - ash tray - body color - undercoat floor - undercoat fender wells - tranny + damper - grey - engine touchup - metallic green(supposed to be grey but turned out green) - seat frame - satin black - air cleaner - ? - front bumper - gloss black - grill brackets - satin black - grill surround - gloss black - headlight surround - gloss black? - plastic grill - ? - may make a custom one - flatbed - gloss black single stage (so it's easy to retouch) - rear bumper - probably gloss black, but haven't even bought one Out of that list I still have to weld up the flatbed and wire it. Ron

Re: Project Git-R-Done - 72 K25
You'll have to wait a while, in line ahead of you:
- Finish this truck - Fix up and sell on the 914 project - Fix up and sell on the 72 C10 project - 55 Stude - Figure out what I can do with the 72 Burb, which has a messed up title - and then the 53 White 3000 rollback project There's a least a week or two lead time in all that.

Re: Project Git-R-Done - 72 K25
Thanks, got a little more work done, fitted the windshield in place, the weatherstrip isn't perfect though, little gaps in the upper corners of the window.
As well it looks like LMC's rear window gasket is too big, not sure if its an error or they all are too big. Ron

I keep forgetting to post more pics, installed the engine and tranny. Painted the heater box and a few other bits and pieces.
