I know this is an old post but I have sad news. All of the vehicles in the Flagstaff yard were crushed by the new owner as of September 2012

Re: Junk yard Picture Thread

Ya, the new idiot owner has so much money he didn't care about saving the vintage stuff. I was told they crushed all of it except that black 30s flatbed Ford truck. I tried to pursuade them into trying to sell it off/part it out but they didn't want to hear it. Guess that is what happens when you don't need the money. He would have made a ton over scrap weight prices. The property and all of its contents sold for 1,450,000.

Not sure where you’re at in Florida, but there’s a junk yard near Orlando that is all pre-1980 cars and trucks, they have a few 60-66 trucks from the one pic I saw. I will try and find it then post it here. I just wish I could find a non-crushed/rusted out hood somewhere in south Florida ha-ha.. all those hoods in those pics make me jealous...

EDIT- just relized that post was about three years old haha

Re: Junk yard Picture Thread

1964 Short Fleetside.

I stopped to ask about getting it as a parts truck but the guy said it still runs and he would take 2,500 for it. At that price I had to pass. Not a bad looking truck though.

Sorry this is the only pic I have of it. The owner was not working that day. My dad knew him so we rode up to his house where he was recovering from getting some of his lung removed.

I know the guy that owns that. There is some good stuff but so much of it is pretty picked over. He is really big on the scrap business. He has thrown out some stuff that is better than what is in the wrecking yard. Any other cool Arizona wrecking yards out there?

I can't believe the stuff they crushed out of there recently. They had a REALLY straight 58 shortbed fleetside that they crushed out and it wasn't even there a month. I asked the guys about it and they said the owner wanted anything old crushed. We are lucky we grabbed the bed. By the next weekend the whole truck was gone to scrap.

Re: Junk yard Picture Thread

These three trucks from Roblins Garage near Picton Ontario came in handy during my '62 GMC restoration. Owner Lawrence Roblin was the nicest guy to deal with, tons of knowledge & 107 acres of classic cars and trucks to walk through! Unfortunately Lawrence was into his 80s & with nobody to take over his salvage yard had to shut down. They started crushing the remaining inventory in late 2011 into 2012. Sad to see. He had several barns full of parts last time I was there in 2009 not sure what has become of those parts, I know he does have an Ebay store selling off some small parts.

Re: Junk yard Picture Thread

Hey everyone. New guy here from Oklahoma. I have been looking feverishly for 60-65 K10 parts for a 61 I am working on. I'm really looking for some front hubs. I can find lockouts but not the hubs themselves. I see a lot of pics of great donors but not a lot of contact info. Anyone have a personal phone book of numbers and/or web sites I can search?

Dan's Auto Salvage up here in Kingman has maybe a dozen 60's trucks and there is a place out on North Hwy 93 near the old Rosie's Den that sometimes is open and sometimes isn't that has nothing but old stuff. I don't think anything in there is newer than 1970.

On the highway just outside of Tucson off I10 on the way back to Phoenix is a yard but the guy isn't much on selling parts. He has a few 60's trucks sitting there rotting away. I tried to buy some parts and he acted like he really wasn't wanting to sell anything.

Would love to buy up all of these old trucks and restore them all, but have neither the money nor the time!

Would also like to find any good yards in Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio/Illinios.

Re: Junk yard Picture Thread

Not a Junkyard, but here is a pic from the Lambrecht Chevrolet Auction in Pierce NE. A row of Brand New 1964 Chevy C10s, all I6 long beds, they all sold for $18-$22,000 each. At least a dozen of them. Also a 1969 Chevelle SS 396, rusted quarters, crushed roof, no interior sold for $27,500 and the 1978 Corvette that sold for $80,000!
