Re: project " Blue-Ray"
Not sure on pricing , But Oreillys sells weatherpak connectors and so does chevrolet.....$$$$ . It would be a local source if a guy was in a pinch , you need a special crimper for the wire ends and dont forget the weather seals. I love em , I use em every time I am wiring something up . Best thing since sliced bread

Re: project " Blue-Ray"
more progress to report, got the new aluminum be cool radiator...the mounting blocks were a bit to long for the factory style rad. hold downs...after looking at the big, ugly, 'plate style mount' i chose to shorten the blocks on the radiator and use the better looking hold downs...once it was trimmed down to fit, i put the electric fans on, and upper/lower rad hoses...ran my heater hoses (added a nice heater hose clamp), hooked up the steam line with a 'T', and the cooling system was complete..also put the hood on...then it was off to get tuned...the tune turned into a complicated matter, the computer i ordered was a e38 PCM from schram, and a t42 TCM....i received them both, and installed them... little did i know that that particalular PCM was outta a 06 v6 impala... so what we had to do was buy the HP tuner lience for that yr impala, and once we had that, we did a entire rewright of the PCM, for a 08 silverado with a 5.3 and DOD...once the PCM had the right software installed, then we could begin the actual 'tune' process....Glen worked his computer vu-do magic on it, and it came alive....once it was running i headed back home, only to get get 3 miles from the house, and run outta gas on the off ramp of the highway ( its kinda my friends fault, he talked me into passing the gas station in favor of trying to get to one closer to my house)... so once the truck was stopped, and not starting, we had to Mcguyver it... i had a old anti-freeze jug, behind the seat, and some plyers under the seat....so i disconnected the fuel line off blue-ray, and jumpered the fuel pump relay to fill the jug... once it was filled, i had my friend pour it into old red, while i took pics....it was a long trip.....but here are a few videos of the beast...(first vid, the sound isnt great, but the second video says it all)

Re: project " Blue-Ray"
on the home stretch now, got the A/C lines made up, vacuumed, and charged the system...the A/C blows cold, but the small electric fans arnt cutting it when the A/C is on, the high side pressure is higher then where i wanna see it at idel...so new fans are going in...also im going to retro fit a cruise control to work with this engine setup, more on that later....and here are some pics of everything so far...

Re: project " Blue-Ray"
Just a question for you...I've seen a few posts regarding custom rads that are bought from a certain guy (forgot his name) on ebay where he can do custom sizes, input / output etc etc and I'm wondering if you know if its possible to have that water hose come in the top passenger side of the rad instead of crossing the front of the motor?
I'm not sure if it has to be the way it is due to the circulation flow of the coolant through the rad and it's exit point? I'm just getting ready for my motor swap (LQ9) and trying to get some planning done ahead of time for it.

Re: project " Blue-Ray"
Gordon, Flex-A-Lite will make custom rads also. You can have one made w/in/out on pass side.
Don, fantastic work man. Just wish I could find me a body/paint guy to work on mine now. hummmm |

Re: project " Blue-Ray"
you can have both the in/out on the pass side, or both on the dr. side, or anything in-between....what i like about this setup is you can go into any parts store and tell them you need a rad hose for a chevy truck, instead of trying to remember the part number of the hose that fits with the outlet on the pass side..
