Right arm! Thanks guys

Years ago I had a brief stint in a body shop, and actually became somewhat decent, but most has been forgotten. Driven with the confidence of how good I used to be, supplemented by trace memories I figured I'd have no problem picking up the gun again. Unfortunately, I was mired by reality. I was trying to get a somewhat satin finish so it took a little playing around. The first time I sprayed it I went a little heavy on the clear in the mix, so it almost went on like a candy paint. It didn't really cover the orange completely and was shinier than what i wanted. Sanding ensued. This time I just mixed the base with the clear 50/50, added hardener and reduced it till it was suitable to spray. Here's what I got:

I'd be hard pressed to give any useful advice, as I'm just flying by the seat of my pants when it comes to paint...

Re: Parked Indefinite

Started to make some lines to reunite the master with the proportioning block. While I had the bender and flaring tool out I made up some oil feed lines, not sure if I like them though...they almost remind of that tacky early 90's "the heartbeat of america" logo. Regardless, the next task will be trying to bleed the brakes...looking like its going to be ugly

Re: Parked Indefinite

Brief update as usual...buttoned up the brake lines, just need to a hand to bleed the brakes... Started to wire up the 3 components that reside underneath the hood(alternator, starter, distributor) didn't get too far though since the shop was like a meat locker tonight. I decided to bring a few of the tasks at hand inside where heat is. First pic is the edelbrock carb...I've already added a marine accelerator pump and .110 needle+seats, but still need to replace the brass floats with thermoquad ones. Next pic is the gauge I think I'm going to use for boost, found it in a storage locker, just going to see how well it cleans up

Re: Parked Indefinite

Hope you don't mind these near daily updates that chronicle next to no progress, but anyway here's another. Hollow brass floats are out and solid thermoquad floats are now in...an excessive amount of pics for less than an hours effort follows:

Thanks!

Well, I put the carb back together and got the most of the engine wiring figured out. I found this scoop in a storage locker, wonder how much cutting and welding it would take to make it work with boost..

Anyways, the plan was to mount a fuel cell in the back, I just didn't know what to get. Then I remembered 8 or 9 years ago I did get one when a guy redid his car. Well after 20 minutes of searching I found it and sure enough it was just the size I needed. Would've been nice if it had a sump, but good enough for me since it was free. Here's the dirty ol' tank:

Spent a few hours, made up some brackets, and now it's installed:

Tried to get it as far back as possible so I had room to run the exhaust I want to run...should be enough I think:

Thanks man, just been slowly picking away at the exhaust.

Managed to get the bungs and flanges welded onto the downpipes which meant I could start doing the exhaust. Still plan on wrapping them, but I'll do that later. Anyways, I wanted to try something a little different so I decided to use this 5" exhaust pipe I had:

The plan is going to be dual 3" merged into single 5" which should flow well enough i think. Took a few random pics of where I'm at and will try to finish it up tomorrow.
