Welcome. I was concerned about getting in the way. And Ogre provided a really good explanation so hopefully that will work.

Not in the way at all. That's a good resource.

Cool build! Any particular reason why you decided against the 60101 cam?

They are works of art for sure!

Thanks! After talking with burger and crunching some numbers in a simulator, the 60101 would have me losing too much torque in the low end which I need to get the truck moving. So i decided to step down one profile and retain a good torque to horsepower ratio early in the power band. I'm only sacrificing a few foot lbs higher in the rpm range. I think with the longtubes and cam set-up, it'll make plenty of power out of that little 307 w/o overcamming it.

It'll likely stay the way it is. Honestly, it's in rougher shape than the pictures show. I need to replace a door, hood and fender so I'll likely paint it all Catalina blue with white top in the future. But that's a ways off. So for now, it'll stay "multicolored."

That's my immediate plan for sure. Keep it washed with with a good wash and get the drivetrain and suspension/brakes in tip top shape. Then I'll likely revamp the interior and drive it for a while until I can save up enough for paint/body.

Do you have any good pics of your truck, Chaplain?

No need for selfies, just the truck will do. I talked to a painter about clear coating my 85, he said he could prep it and spray it in a few days for $500. Flatten the clear down enough to look good over the original camo. I think I'm going to try it. Robbie, Oaky is looking good!

No build thread necessary. Just a few pics now and then.

Thanks much! I've for some good things planned throughout the end of the year.

Hello Robbie,

That's a nice collection of parts you've accumulated. When do you think you'll put it all together?

Thanks, Ed. Hope all is good with you. I'm hoping to begin tear down later this month and have it all up and running by November. My wife is due at the beginning of February so I'm planning to have it done by then. Thankfully my good friend, Number98, will be helping out (probably more than he wants to).
