You know we have a 33 Plymouth stashed in the barn at the ranch that is a super six short track car. And it has a full roll cage and nerf bars .
Might have to change out the Hoosiers for studded snow tires. Lack of windows and heater might be a comfort issue

And maybe my wife too. She did this to our 05 Impala last fall. The airbags didn't pop out on this either, which totally surprised me. She was fine, just a bump on the head, but the car ended up totaled. Sorry for the poor picture quality, they were taken into the sun, with my hand stuck through the towing companies fence.

Re: Daverods project 66

seen someone adapt kartslicks for iceracing by cutting a few grooves in them with an electric tirecarver letting the air out lay cut to size moped chains intoo the grooves and inflate the tire again , it did great in cornering , not so mush on accelleration and braking though
later i found this....... http://www.rctankcombat.com/articles/track-systems/ .... go down the page to chain and bolt track it looks like a ladder snow chain it should work realy whell in loose snow and mud when its tightly around a slick tire

See there you go Bubba. A 33 Plymouth with tank tracks, roll bar, nerf bars some goggles and a good coat. Teen proof. Maybe some mitts.

Re: Daverods project 66

I need to get my truck back together I miss it. I cut about an inch off my front horns to move my bumper back. Then I needed to cut some off the side braces. Got one piece of trim on. Noticed some lumps in the rear of the bed side so I sanded and hammered and mudded and sanded and mudded. I think I need to go sand. Then I need to go find some stuff for ebay so I can buy my accurair valve thing. I hear rear swing arms are selling fast.

Re: Daverods project 66

I kinda suck at it. I swear all I do is buy filler and make dust out of it. What do you need I might have it. Don't need a dead mule do you. Most the stuff is snow machine stuff. Parted out a old sled that I got for 50. Bet I got 500 out of it in parts. 180 just for the exhaust. Took boiler out of a house and put a central air. The boiler was 2 years old. Truck got some good parts from that. Mules don't burn worth $hit.

Ordered my Accuair valve and speed switch. Thanks Scotts. His price won't be beat. What's taking it so long. Got my new trim piece from classic's. That was fast. Kept the bent one.

Re: Daverods project 66

Do you have any body filler and some skin for my fingers? Wiring harness? Headers? Front drop member? rusty roof? I think I have everything to make it go up and down. Now I need to think about going forward and backward and side to side.

Re: Daverods project 66

I got the painless harness out of my truck. I wont be using it. I paid over 600 for it, but if you offer me a good price I'll give it to you. It's the one built for our truck.

I sold my hearders already.

I have DV8customs front crossmember that he sectioned and moved the arms in. I traded him some stuff for it.

Re: Daverods project 66

Did'nt like my new paint job of the roof of my 64. Primer it and shot it again sanded it down alittle much better. Painted my fender with some slick sand. I love the smell of that stuff. Sprayed really good booth worked well. Cut out my old heater controll thing and put it in my new dsah. Should work good.

Oh ya fixed a big scrape on my drivers door. And don't forget just say no.Especially when anywhere near Rexburg. Had to say to a good friend for awhile. Just more time and $$ and can spend on my truck. I did find out I drink way to much caffeine.

Re: Daverods project 66

Sanded down the fenders with some 180. That slicksand is sweet. Sands so nice. Patched a come small spots with some filler, sanded them, sprayed them again with some G2 feather fill. Turned the air up to 35 worked a lot better. I had it set at about 25.Went with the black. If things don't work out so good I'm going to sand the burnt orange down to give it a patina look. So far it looks great.

Re: Daverods project 66

Hey Dave-- Pm sent on the brackets - I saw a set in the Jalopy jungle a while back, but I did not need any, So I left them . Not entirely sure if they were 292 brackets or 230/250. Hope they are still there!!!!
There is a difference. You need the style shown in picture #4 or #5 in post 1919 above in this thread.
The short radiator hose turning back under the bracket is the difference. The 230/250 does not have that short hose. Check out post # 28 - bottom picture of "Bubba's Recycling Project" http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=365170&page=2 for a picture of the 230/250 set-up
I can check Wednesday if it is not howling snow. Snowing here big time tonight. Bubba

You live in Idaho. Don't let alittle snow stop you. Just take a bigger shovel. I need to go sand some more. Almost have my cab ready. Seeing all these guys knocking out low riders in 6 months is really pissin me off. Of course they seem to have tons of cash. I think that helps. Oh ya and the not painting anything also helps.

Re: Daverods project 66

yeah it sucks seeing all these guys drop loads of cash in their truck all at once, But I guess that's how the games played. Atleast you can say that you've built yours and not someone else.

Don't get me wrong I have no problems with dumping tons of cash in my truck. It just take me alittle longer. Gotta spend your $$$ on somthing. I don't plan on taking any with me when I check out of this place. I'm not sure but I think you get 50 virgin trucks and unlimited cutting disks at the next place/planet .
