So it sounds like you more or less used one point and just snugged it up wrapped around the motor. I can picture what you did in my head. I suppose worst case I can just drop the motor down and roll it out on a jack if I can't figure things out. I'm waiting on another engine stand from a buddy who doesn't need theirs anymore.

I had a lead on a stand, but some how ended up with a 350 on it. hahahaha

Thanks. It appears that every day somebody is selling something more for our trucks.

Hopefully several months from now I'll be ready to start looking for those parts.

Don't be afraid to give a holler when you want to pull that motor. I've done a few.

Today was a weird day. I'm at home and my wife gets a cell phone call. My father in law who is sometimes so drunk he can't remember his name calls up the wife and says. "Hey I have this 65 sitting back here and I know you husband wants a part or two off of it. You better send him back now before I load it up on the flat bed and have it hauled away."

I was like huh? I've been trying to scam parts forever and I was always told don't even think of it. Then the next time I talk to him he is a 6pack into it and he says "Ah come get things whenever you want to"

Today was a sober day hahahahaha I ran over and grabbed the hood, tail gate, hood hinges and springs, upper radiator supports, latch for the hood. Basically anything I thought wasn't gone.

Here is my old hood. Can you believe its that bad? Man I was blown away when I got it, but figured I'd pickup a hood somewhere.

Like my trailer.

There is a smack in the front passenger side.

Regular rust/hole spot. I was hoping there wasn't any, but hey it at least is light years ahead of my old/blue hood.

I haven't really compared my old tail gate to the new to me, but I think the new to me has less dents and doesn't to have as much stuff floating around inside of it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the rest of the little pieces, but I grabbed them anyways just for the heck of it. Maybe I'll throw them up later.

I still think I should go back and grab some more stuff before he crushes it. The cab is well gone. I mean they cut a sun roof in the thing and there is several switches added to the dash and lord only knows what else was ghettoed to the poor thing over the years.

Anyways.

I got a new Hood, I got a new Hood. Now I just have to learn how to use a stud welder and whatever else I don't know.

You can count on that. I have a picker and some chain/hooks. I'm looking to grab another engine stand that a buddy is trying to get rid of and because I don't want the motor laying on the ground so hopefully in the next 30 or so days. Well that's the idea anyways.

Doesn't matter how bad things look to you on the other truck. I would load that dude up and put it at your place....you will kick your self when you need ..lets say the glove box or you never know...and then it's to late.

Don't worry I'm headingback over to grab the glovebox door too.

The wife suggested I drag it home as well, but there is so much hacked up stuff in my mind its been already picked through. I thought it would be cool to cut the floor out of it and use it on my truck opposed to buying it out of a catalog. I just don't know how much of it is rotted compaired to mine. They are almost the same, but one has it in places the other doesn't.

I might have to really think hard on this one. I don't know where the title is and how to dispose of a carcus once its been picked over. I know its longbed 4wheel drive with a C10 badge on it. Engine and transmission is gone.

Getting rid of it is easy. Just get out the torch and cut it up into manageable pieces and load it up and take it to the recycler.

Enjoyed the read Kizer. Got some good pics. I cut up two trucks with a saws all and a good metal blade. It was'nt to bad at all, even kinda fun. Not every day you get to hack up a truck. Later Daverod

Welp not much going on. Over the last week Ive had a Sinus Infection and I would almost sware my head was going to explode from the headaches.

Anywho I decided to start looking at the hood and hit it with some primer. I know I need to take it down to bear metal first to really work on it, but I wanted to paint it all one color so I could see the flaws in it. Looks like there are a few creases on the passenger side and a hole on the drivers side.

As well on the passenger side there is a dent, which Im not sure how you would pull it out. Stud welder?

Not much of an update, but I think I have found my goal. I saw this picture in the hubcap thread and I think this is what I really want. Heck I'm even thinking of using the factory HubCaps, but I think I might play with the color abit instead of the shine.

Side Trim I'm not sure of or the custom cab chrome behind the doors. However I really dig the color and the way the grill was all done. The stance might be a little lower than factory, but not slammed because I don't think I want that look as of right now. As well the exhaust might be a little different. Who knows.

Man I love this site because until I saw that truck I was thinking Plain Jane Flat colored paint and who cares wheels. Now seeing it all dolled up I can't help but give it a splash of the factory looking colors and trim.

Sorry too get all excited and really not offer up much other than my excitement.
