Re: PROJECT "Z069" - LS7 powered '69 Stingray....
I rebuilt the e-brake assembly, using a new handle. (the old one was cracked and nasty). The rest of the parts were good, even the plastic cable guide was in good shape as well as the grounding switch:

A new e-brake console was aquired, as the old one was cracked. It came complete with the lower bracing, slider, trim, and PW switches

I've been reading this thread and I finally figured out your plan. You are jacking up the radiator cap and putting a new car under it!

Re: PROJECT "Z069" - LS7 powered '69 Stingray....
Well, it's been a long time for an update. With many distractions in my life (complications with my folks health, work, other vehicles, selling our home) it's been quite a busy time for me. But I am back on track with the 'Z069'
- - Since the last pics, we glued down the main carpet, installed the new fuse box, started on the harness and started on some 'hook ups' - - I started with installing the Lokar 36" cable. Some mods were in order. This engine was originally equipped with a TBW Throttle Body, so no provisions were available for mounting a TC. So I started at the firewall: - ![]() - ![]() - The stock hole was too large, and the cable would just slip right in, so I took the stock carb cable and cut the end off, and bolt it back in place. This gave us the 5/16" hole for the Lokar: - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]()

Re: PROJECT "Z069" - LS7 powered '69 Stingray....
SORRY JUST REALIZED THE CAMERA WAS SET ON "TOO BIG"....
- - - - I redrilled the hole slightly lower on the throttle pedal arm so it would get a straight pull out of the cable (black mark is where it was drilled). - ![]() - The beginning of a mounting plate...we'll get back to this later... - ![]() - I shipped the tack to Corvette Instruments for an electronic conversion and a high redline reface: - ![]() - - Also began the disassembly of the steering column...for prep and paint: - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() -

Re: PROJECT "Z069" - LS7 powered '69 Stingray....

- I finally ran the ECM harness into the car. I drilled a 2 1/4" hole just under the steering column. This way I could fit the ECM plugs thru, without removing and labeling the thousand wires from the plugs. This location will be less visible. A grommet will be installed as soon as I can find one. - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - I made this simple mount, and used MSD mounts to mount it under the dash pad...along with the fan relays, pump relay, ECM fuse, and mini fuse box: - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - -

Looking very sweet and this is the reason nut and bolt or even resto-mods cost so much to have done, this stuff takes time and I mean LOTS OF IT!! Looking very sweet, can't wait to see it done!

Re: PROJECT "Z069" - LS7 powered '69 Stingray....
Man...WE GOT THAT LS7 FIRED UP !!! THAT THING SOUNDS LIKE A MONSTER !!
Anyway, no videos just yet....but have a few more pics: - - Picked up a temporary press. guage for the regulater (waiting for liquid filled) and rigged up an oil press. (even left it in the box) - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - Threw the air-filter on...and gave it a crank....after a few seconds it came to life...with 100 psi of oil-pressure, and an ear-piercing roar from the open 3" pipes !!! - ![]() - - After a few seconds of run time (no cooling yet)...I checked everything for leaks...everything is PERFECT !!! - ![]() - I hated to do it, but I've been having to modify the replacement M&H wiring harness in a few spots....including the alternator. Here I cut the early style plug off, and soldiered on some rings for the new style alt. - ![]() - Also tapped out the rear of the alternator for a harness ground, and the stock alt harness mount. - ![]() - ![]() - Few misc items added: - ![]()

I think that is in case the engine mount fails? It is supposed to keep the engine in place, if that is on the engine mount? Looking good, can't wait for the vid!
