Re: PROJECT: 1950 Chevy 3/4T 4x4... new member

Thank you guys it turned out really nice! I am trying to get a few guys together to help me hang body panels this Saturday. I'm going to try to get it together as fast as possible, however I have 2 major projects this truck and my Plymouth Laser and they are coming together at the same time and on top of that we have started a new business and it takes up 60 hrs/wk and I'm also helping my mom remodel her house. So needless to say when I want something done I get it done and have a hard time waiting on others LOL. After it's together the body shop will polish it and make it even nicer.

Just saw your build thread, very nice project, learned to drive a standard in that year of truck, not as easy as todays manual trans for sure. Very nice blue, good pic, keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing. Rick.

I hate to say it but mine is Ford Kona Blue. I can't remember the paint code right now but it is very close to yours for sure. BTW your truck looks very nice! We will have very similar trucks

Re: PROJECT: 1950 Chevy 3/4T 4x4... new member

The doors are on and the gaps and latches are perfect. I spent the last few days getting everything ready to put back on. Tuesday we are going to put the rest of the front clip on, Wednesday I plan on installing the heat/sound deadener and seat. I'm going to try to go up there tomorrow and get a head start on a couple things. Painter is going to polish the dash before I start putting the gauges back in.

It turned out really nice, however I cannot wait to get it together and see it wet sanded and polished!!!

n_elsod I even plan on making diamond plate running boards and painting them black so our trucks will be very similar.

N2, I used Line-x on my running boards as well as the inner fenders. Has a nice look and deadened the sound of the fenders. Plus it's guaranteed for life not to chip. Take a look. I also looked at he Kona Blue but changed my mind to this one. Your truck will look awesome when its done.

Re: PROJECT: 1950 Chevy 3/4T 4x4... new member

Linex does look good on the inner fender! I rubberized undercoated my fenders but left the inner fenders smooth. I find it hard to clean Linex should it get dirty is the only reason I opted from using it on the inner fender. It is all personal preference, however it does look nice.

Thank you!! The wheels and tires came from a friend. We did some trading and that's how he had them. I'm hoping to be able to buy a new set of wheels/tires this fall. So basically they are what I had for now, though I do not think the white letters look bad either.

I still have to make some OEM style running boards out of steel tread plate and wrap the edges to give them a OEM look. They will be black and will balance out with the inside of the bed well.

Your truck is really coming together nicely, white letters are fine, haha. It is nice to se something different for a 4x4, the round fenders are so cool, great build.
