I sold some of the HD's for groceries, kids needs, etc., along the way. It was never a happy moment unless it was for another bike, for sure. Always got another. Now, I'm older, slower, but still a gear-head. Yup. The truck works better for me now. No regrets from this chair. This one's gatherin' some dust, I see.

Re: What did you sale to fund a 67-72 project!!!
Might sell of harley when around 90 yo figure by then I might slow down so rest of world can catch up. Been 250 mph in 5.68 second 1/4 mile still need that fuel ride for 300+.Building new Frontengine dargster that should be good for cpl 230 plus shots. Right now boths my roadking custom with 114ci twincam and my 88 springer full custom with 124 ci evo have nos fogger systems.
So figure have 40 to 45 years of need for speed if live to be 90 yo. My family has tradition of being speed freaks my granfather was driving 90 plus up till the day they amputated his leg due to diabetes. Hes was 78 then. Hey he who dies with most toys might not win but he had more fun. |

Re: What did you sale to fund a 67-72 project!!!
Bought my truck like this:
bought this '72 for coil rear suspension, front disc brakes, plus it had sbc/turbo350. I sold its body and my trucks power train and other misc. parts and put my truck on its chassis...keeping my trucks original frame and eventually selling the '72's. I sold my numbers matching '78 Z/28 for funds: under the knife: still a work in progress.....finally got my truck to this phase with LSx power:

This what it looks like today. Made some progress and I hope the board doesn't trash me for the late model bed.

Re: What did you sale to fund a 67-72 project!!!
I'm kind of okay on the bed (though I know a lot of people DO NOT like the late model beds on our trucks). But, I may have to seriously rag you about them wheels!!! (jus kidding!) Looks like you're making progress.

Re: What did you sale to fund a 67-72 project!!!
Thanks. Only made one trip to the track so far and still handling various small issues...best of two runs was a 8.46@82.80 on a 1.94 60' (low 13's to high 12's in 1/4?). Should be able to get deeper into the 8's (solid 12's in 1/4)...MAYBE EVEN into the 7's (high 11's in 1/4) next year!

Re: What did you sale to fund a 67-72 project!!!
I sold this Nova for the price of the truck and the gas money to trailer it home... Still trying to sell the red one for more truck parts... I'd be happy to let it go for a Tilt Column and a Buddy Bucket Seat...

Re: What did you sale to fund a 67-72 project!!!
I traded a 79 female Vette 4 speed for a ?? escort wagon. Then traded the Escort And $300 for my 67 stepside. 292 6 banger with 3ontt,411 gear and lots of rust.Ive driven this truck daily for about 20 years. The last two have not been daily as I have no seatbelts because of rust in the cab floor. This deal was made in the early 90s.Im needing a cab, but theyre hard to find here in the south.Muley

Re: What did you sale to fund a 67-72 project!!!
I am selling a '72 Caddy to fund my Blazer project... Hopefully it hits the reserve tomorrow! I wish I didn't need the money so bad, because I'd love to keep that big 'ol low mileage 472 big block.
But, I need the cash (haha) and I am selling it to make this truck happen. I sold these too...
