Re: 1 ton rat rod project
As others have implied, you might be crazy, but in a good way. I've been following this build for a long time. What you're doing is one of a kind and just plain cool.

Re: 1 ton rat rod project
The huge single stack is a cool idea too, see that in some puller trucks, a bit different enough than 2 stacks.

Re: 1 ton rat rod project
I really like that you retained the original wheels.
You need the Rocket Air Horn. Armoured Clearence Marker The Big Old STOP Lamp Barden Grille Guard could easily be copied.

Re: 1 ton rat rod project
Maybe a storage box between the rear of the cab and the back wheels would hide the frame and give an illusion that the bed was even lower. Also, good idea on cab marker lights and stacks...yep, that'd be a perfect look with those wheels.

Re: 1 ton rat rod project
Fill that gap with tool boxes or find some old kegs turn them to gas tanks or storage. Truck is looking good, get cab lights too.

Been awhile since I've been on the forum, but the truck looks awesome!
How does it ride?

Re: 1 ton rat rod project
Are you going to notch the frame in the rear to get it lower? Or just let it bottom out on the axle.

Re: 1 ton rat rod project
No other than price it was pretty easy. Only place I could find the cheapest set was coker and two were $432 shipped "ouch" but I did take a wire wheel and brush to them plus the fresh coat of paint for a good seat. I was told the rust and dirt can cause the ring to not seat properly and there goes your head!
