The rivets on the vin plate on the red one don't look right. Should have rosette rivets in the plate. Could cause you issues getting it registered or if you have to sell it down the road.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Would you be wearing of the card issue this guy speaks of?

68 longbed stepside

Jeff, send me ur email addy and I'll send you pics. Yes runs. Needs kit in
edlebrock 4v carb, cant lean it down-runs rich. Some rust on rocker panels.
Needs new wood bed or metal, whatever you prefer. Plywood over old wood bed
now. All glass good. New dash insert and glove box insert. Seat good. Bought
truck about 4 years ago out of Las Vegas, my stepson drove it out here from
Vegas. The guy I bought it from said(I have his email) the 350 was a new crate
engine about 30,000 mi ago. Its only had about 3000 mi put on it since I bought
it.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Unless you really like it I would hold out for an original paint truck. White hides a lot. You might get lucky and it'll be ok. I'd have to put my hands on it. I don't know a lot about carbs. I've had an Edelbrock before and although it did well, I would smell gas after cutting the motor off. No leaks tho. He may not be running a fuel pressure regulator also. Eds need 4-5. Stock mechanical pumps put out 8-9 I believe. We can go look at it, just lmk ahead of time.

Well atleast she is 1 color. Still a beater but she looks good from about 20 ft. Except the roof blah. Was just a quick scuff and paint. Masking takes forever!!!!

Awe man, should've said something about the wiper switch. I got one from a 77 I grabbed from the pick a part. I don't even know if it even works. But I would of sent it your way. I got it since the switch has the metallic cover over the actual metal tab. I have one in my 78 but it was missing the cover. I don't know if its the same type switch for the 78 as the indicator looks different but since it doesn't really rain or snow in So Cal, I would've donated it to moms.

Let me know if the switch you got doesn't work out.

Here is how my gauges turned out. 91 cluster w/ older model tach in a 87.

I was just wishing they were more black like yours. Yours looked real nice and clean.

Haha, no worries man...I spent like $20 on it and its new. I have ran through a couple pull a part ones and they kept breaking. THe one works but will turn on on its own and i have to touch the wires...There are 2 diff types of switches so its hit and miss...Wanted to make sure my mom had a good one and i didnt want to go out to pull a part and hope. lol

Appreciate it though

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Well went to see another today. Looked good from what i saw....BUT!! I arrive and the grass is a foot tall, a van is in the yard, a lac is in the yard, the front door is partially open and then i knock. A half naked kid answers the door and i ask for the guy. Kid says yes, turns around like he is going to get him and then comes back and goes out the door as a guy start backing his truck and trailer in. The guy is looking and can see this but then says hey you just gonna watch a kid get behind a truck like a retard? WTF man!! These people...I thought the kid notified the guy of me being there but after waiting a lil longer and no one coming out i went and looked it over. Looked pretty solid then i heard the other guy inside calling me a retard and such and said **** this ****...This is ghetto and im going to get into something if that dude comes out here.

But the white stepside is back for sale in the boro. Apparently the guy who bought it went to the bank and never returned so now im suppose to go look at it tomorrow. God knows if i want it how i will get it home but we will see
