Re: 1969 SuperBurb build-up (Bagged and Blown!)

I say white. It looks clean, brightens it up, ties in with the white in the hounds-tooth pattern and the white on the exterior. Just don't touch it! Black would work, but I tend to agree with the others, it might be too dark inside. Either way, I think it will turn out nice.

I like the white in my suburban. I wouldn't change it to black. The white keeps it bright at night.

Re: 1969 SuperBurb build-up (Bagged and Blown!)

I guess I will be the Lone Ranger on this one without Tonto.
Quick points on the black.
So I am guessing this will be more of a show truck than driver as far as darkness goes and that what interior lights is for, on top of the fact that these Burbs are glass houses on the road so the black would be better especially with the other bright and funny looking blue headlights from other cars shining in there if you do drive at night.
As far as coffin feeling the red window post pretty much break up the black, now if the headliner was to match the seat inserts then yes that white.
This ride has a lot of white already and although it will look good white, I don't think the white would look uniform and finished off as the black.

Man you probably shouldn't have asked us, this is a tough one and honestly anyway you go on this it would be nice.

The white will clash with the seat inserts being that it appears much brighter than them.
So I will vote for black.

I appreciate everyone's input! Here's what I decided to do. I'm going to go with white and if it ends up being to bright I will try to figure out a way to paint it black or cover it. I looked at Lowes for the FRP and I found 2 different colors of white. One was a really bright white and shiny and the other one was kinda an egg-shell color and satin. I'm going to use the egg-shell/satin one. I think it looks pretty close to the stock color of the factory headliner (could be wrong ) I've attached pictures of both, but I don't know if you will be able to tell the difference (first one is satin, second one is shiny). Also, I finished all of my FatMat so I threw the carpet in just to see how everything looks.

Rob,

I think you made a good choice on the headliner, I was thinking of the same for mine. You should be feeling good as you get that much closer to a finished product!

Thanks! I got the rear panel done yesterday. I'm debating on whether or not I want to combine the 2 small center panels into one. In theory, it seems like it would make the installation easier. Here's a couple of crappy pictures. Will try to take some better ones today or tomorrow. Here's the threads I have been using to help with the headliner build and installation:

Also, a big thanks to boardmember Portheadlight for sending me templates for he front and rear headliner panels.

Glad to see it on the home stretch Rob! Good choice (IMO) on the white headliner.

Still tweaking the front sheet metal, but we did get the grill and bumper installed. Lots of work to make it fit and look right, but well worth it in the end.
