The seat brackets are almost done. I bolted them to the seats, set the seats in place, aligned, then tacked in place. Finaly I drilled thru the bracket and floor 16 times. I will remove the tacks and clean up

This is what the bottom of the center seat looks like or use too.

Right now this is what it looks like. It got late last night and didn't finish the last leg. I just cut off the feet and turned them to the inside. There was some interfearance with the seats. I had to locate the center seat to the front somewhat because when I flipped the center seat back up it hit the back of the cab. After all of this i realized that the seat brackets probably weren't needed. I could have flipped the center seat brackets the way I did and just shortened them. The seats sat on the floor just fine without the center seat in. But with the seats being raised it made it more comfortable and more leg room. I felt like it was easier to reach the pedals. I've sat in another truck with these same seats and it was ackward driving it, by that I mean I felt like I had to lift my leg up when going from the gas to the brake.

Hey!!!! That looks like the damn seat out of my '00 Silverado. I'll be back in a minute. I need to go outside and check something........whew, still there!!!

Got to work on mine some tonight. After I spent most of the time lookin' for what I needed. Since I haven't worked on it in a while I couldn't remember where everything was. But, it finally came to me. Got the column back in and the steering shaft in. Not much but it's progress.

Damn that thing needs a bath.

Looks good Alan. I would almost trade you an original automatic column for your's. If I ever get any free time from work and football practice I try to ride up and see what how the truck is coming along.

That's a great idea about taping the openings. Then I could see my favorite part of the truck, the dash.

Got the shifter rod hooked up last night. Then i realized I don't have a shift indicator. i realized it a while back then forgot about it. I might just un it without.

Back out to the shop I go.

Check this out. The wife wanted a new dinning room table. Couldn't afford it so we painted the old maple/white table. Still in work. She stained the top and I touched up with the airbrush and used my paint gun to spray polyurethane. She is happy so far. They really turn out good.

Looks killer. Can't even see the filler. Ya move, we could go sledding together, then you could put my truck together. You'll get use to the cold. Bring that little stove you have in your shop you'll need it.l

She wanted the color to match the detail in the floor.

Re: My 1965 build thread

Put new serpentine belt on and finish up the power steering hoses except for the fancy clamps.

Vintage Air condensor

Removed cross bars

Put grill and hood stricker on to check for clearance behind. It is a tight area where the fittings will be.

Spaced it up a little. I lowered it a little since I took this pic. I plan on reusing the crossbars and modify them to mount the condensor.

wish you could visit in the summer, much nicer, and it was cold the week you picked to come : it froze, and was in the teens and negatives the whole week!

I was hoping we would trick you with one of our balmy late december/early januarys...Its usually only real nasty from late jan. to early feb.

That Vintage Air stuff is beautiful. Nothing like a massive condenser.

The compressor is very compact - the one out of my Chevelle, along with its torch-cut mounting bracket, weighed as much as a VW engine! I'd love to go with your set-up in my car, if it's adaptable to the 290 horse Chevy crate 350.

Mac.
