Re: LFD's Project Traizer 2WD closed cab.
Well here is a bit of todays progress!
I had some rocker panel problems so I am sectioning and slicing to get everything to fit right. I also patched the drivers side door inside and out and coated everything as it was going together. Drivers side is 100% done now and I hope to have the pass side finished up by Thursday and maybe ready to go back on the frame. Kevin LFD Inc. |

Re: LFD's Project Traizer 2WD closed cab.
I also drilled the door hinges to help align them when going back on after patching.

Re: LFD's Project Traizer 2WD closed cab.
The pass side needs to be longer and taller by about a 1/4". I tried two other rockers and they were the same. I checked the dimensions off a factory rocker and their was about a 3/16" diff so I figured why not just make it fit right.

Re: LFD's Project Traizer 2WD closed cab.
Sorry I missed this before posting pics. I would not call it stalled out but it has been slower than I had hopped. I have a full time job 80 miles away as well as a 8month old son that I pick up on my way home and my wife does not get home untill 6pm so my time has been limited. But I have some time off work right now so I hope to get my part all finished up in the next week or so.

Kevin, I actually made that post after reading page 2, without realizing there were 7 pages in the thread. Sorry about that, I know from reading your threads that you are very busy, I don't know how you have time to work on anything with your schedule. Keep up the awesome work!

Re: LFD's Project Traizer 2WD closed cab.
Kevin, what did you do to the inside of the doors to account for the rust? Blast and then coat? I pulled my door skins and did that before re-skinning them. Just wondered what you did that might have been easier. Jeff.

Is this perfect, No but it sure is alot better then factory and should last a real long time. I also sugest a few times a year that you check your drip holes in the bottom of the doors to make sure they are clear. Kevin LFD Inc. |

Re: LFD's Project Traizer 2WD closed cab.
For todays progress I finished sectioning the pass side rocker and got it all installed and coated. I then replace the rocker box covers with new hardware and anti seize before puttin the fender brace's back inplace. I have one patch left to do to the pass door and it will be re-hung using the holes I drilled in the hinges.

Re: LFD's Project Traizer 2WD closed cab.
We are almost their! The body will meet the chassie for the first time in its new state in about 20min. Today I finished the pass door, spot welded part of the upper fire wall lip because the factory spot welds did not make contact. I installed a nut insert into the pass side upper fender mouint because the stock one was missing, installed the pedal asembly, sterring column, sterring box and cleaned the frame for the body drop
I also installed the tailgate hardware and gate to the new bed sides and had to slot some holes to get the gate to line up right. Once the gate was test fit I them welded the rear gate posts to the bed. My 68 tilt front end will be going on this blazer Monday and by Tuesday it should be ready to head out. This thing will be a body mans dream with it being all new and very straite almost ready for blocking and paint. Kevin LFD Inc. |

Sweet. Is that the shop across the street? Nice of them to let you use the lift. Maybe one of these days when I have a day off, I can meet you at your house after work and give you a hand.
Let me know when you start the air ride suspension work on the blazer. I would really like to help with that. I think I'm free on Monday March 31.
