Nice work gather parts Critter, I was hoping to see some pics of the near finished shop too. But hey, just glad to hear you're still working on it. Keep it up!

Re: The Great Critter Revival ‘09

Sorry to hear about the setbacks Critter. Such is life, huh? Well, know that I am excited for your build as you are going down the road I will drive down too (modern engine, one ton running gear). Guess I should remove the plastic from atop my dana 60 and 14 bolt and get to rebuilding.

Oooooooooh...that may be an option. Thanks! I have decided that I am going to do my best to actually make these emblems, or at least pay someone else to do it. I think it's the fine details like that that really make a nice vehicle, plus I like to see if other people knotice that kind of stuff when I pull up somewhere.

Re: The Great Critter Revival ‘09

It will be awesome for sure! I think it would take people a while to notice, but when they did, they would flip their lid. IMO, it's the subtle changes you make that most people won't notice, yet add to the style, that are the best.

Slacking on the blazer...yes, unfortunately I am. Too much other stuff going on a the moment. I haven't completely stopped, just taken me longer on this d@mn shop than I had ever imagined. It is fully enclosed except for the garage doors. I finally have them all framed, a 16'x7.5' door and a 8'x7.5' door for the garage, also an 8'x8' rollup off the side of the shop. They had to special order the garage doors because of the odd height, but I should have them here and installed around the first of the year. At that point the building will be FULLY ENCLOSED! FINALLY! As far as the blazer goes, I have been on the hunt for an 8 lug dana 44/corp 10 bolt to put under the front or at least use to convert my 6 lug D44. They are proving much more difficult to find (locally) than I had imagined. I have run across a few but nobody wants to part with them. It is easier to find a D60 I think!

I was just messing with ya, ive been slacking on my truck lately.

Would you be interested in a big hub D44? I know someone who might let one go.

I knew you were just messing around, but unfortunately you were right!

At this point I am interested in anything with 8 lugs. You aren't talking about Dan out by the Canyon Damn are you?

Re: The Great Critter Revival ‘09

Nope, never heard of the guy!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Yeah I bought a 95-98 console from him back in august. He has the motherload of axles that I need but last time I asked (2 months ago) he didn't want to part with any of them. Has something changed that I should know about? Is he tired of tripping over them and wants to give some away???

Well he has three of those things so I figured he might let one of them go, he might even trade for your 6 lugger?

Re: The Great Critter Revival ‘09

I know, I know. I really don't have any use for it though. I plan to run 35s with light trail driving being the roughest I would take it through. The rest would be pavement. BUT as hard of a time as I'm having finding 8 lug D44/corp10 stuff, maybe I will just bite the bullet and get a d60. Heck, they are out there everywhere...they just have a 4 digit price tag attached to them.

All kidding aside, thanks, I'm gonna call them this afternoon.

I know. Just havin' fun. Everybody says you have to have a Dana 60 up front. But if you're only doing light wheelin', then I say rock the Dana 44. Here's an very complete article about swapping from 6 lugs to 8 lugs. Hope it helps!
