Re: 88 Crew cab dually
Adam,
How does the truck ride with the bags aired up in the rear? I'm going to have to do something on the rear of mine. I was thinking of getting some 2600 bags and mount over or in front of the axle. But since i have never messed with bags i'm not sure. |

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
If they have limited air psi, you won't notice them. I did the smaller 2500#/6" bags on the rear of my old 74swb C10 (home-made AOL set-up) & you wouldn't have known they were there unless you were told. I only added air to them (via independent schrader valves) when loading the truck down or pulling my car trailer.

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
The rear bags are firestone 2600. I don't have any pictures of the notch but it just a western chassis bolt in. The front would last frame buts being held up a bit by the factory exhaust and the rear would need a bigger notch as it bottoms out now.

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
Still havent bought new tires but i got tired of just looking at this truck and took it for a drive today, rides great with bags. I really need to decide if im going to keep it so i can order somewheels/tires.
I have been looking for a 95+ 2wd ecsb so this truck might get sold soon if i can find one.

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
Its been a while since i did much work on the truck but i did get around to buying some tires, installed some new shocks, got the ac charged up, and installed a tonneau cover. Put about 200 miles on it this weekend, i love driving this truck

Killer. Slammed duallys *are* a lot of fun to drive. I miss driving mine around. Can't wait till it's back on the road.

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
Your dually looks really nice. Im not into cutting up the fenders and putting on 24 inch semi wheels. Yours looks puffect the way it sits.

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
I'm with this guy. Semi's are cool, but I hate when the fenders get all mangled just in the name of fitting "big wheels". Screws up the overall profile of the truck, IMO.
Pretty sure we're in the minority though. |

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
Thanks guys. I still need to pull the headliner and dye the pillars and I think this truck will be mostly done. If eagle ever decides to release their 20" wheel I may buy a set though

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
I'm still a little undecided if I'm going to sell this thing, had it on ebay and got screwed by a buyer. Oh well. I figured since I still have it I might as well get some work done so I got the seat belt anchor points welded into the c pillars, pulled the headliner, trim and got them all recovered/dyed. I'll turned out pretty good but I ended up a little short on dye so I"m going to have to pull the drivers B pillar again haha. Ill get some pictures up tonight.

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
cool, I am glad you're still working on it. Did you ever get the PB narrowed arms, or do you still have the modified stockers on it still? I may have missed it, but i'm not sure.

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
I never ended up with the arms, I guess I really didnt need them. I can cruise the truck pretty damn low and still turn lock to lock, only thing that rubs is the battery tray which should be relocated pretty soon. I am still waiting for Nate to finish designing a 4-link.
