502ss, what are the bag specs? My 74 was set-up similarly (GM truck w/an AOL set-up using dbl convoluted bags). I recall my dimensions being about 5" apart for the upper/lower mounts.
I am not sure of the bag specs. I did notice a part number on them. I will grab the part number tomorrow.

In the picture below you can see the filler neck height in relation to the top of the frame rail. My bed has 3" tall cross members that are what sit on the rail. The cross member just behind the filler neck will need to be trimmed so I am able to route my hose from the filler neck to the rear taillight where the fill will be located but this cross member needs to be shortened anyway to clear the drop shackle. Once the bed is back on I should have roughly 3/4" of clearance from the top of the filler neck to the bottom of the bed floor.

Progress today

- installed air bags

Okay I decided to bring my suburban tank out of my parts storage deciding to fit my suburban tank as you did, but it is way to big. What size is your tank 25,31 or 40 gallon? Mine must be the 40 gallon it is approx 28"lx34"wx12"h. What are your approx dimensions or gallons?

I think that hard 90 degree in the fuel filler is gonna make filling difficult. That makes the fuel pump nozzle click off repeatedly due to the back up and turbulence.

x2.

I changed my filler set-up on my 64 project for just this reason. I was even using a 90° 2"od SS mandrel elbow w/about 5" of vertical tube above & didn't think it would flow fast enough.

Here are the tank dimensions. Mine is the 31 gallon tank. Based on your numbers it looks like yours is the 40. I think I read on here that the 40 will fit but the frame needed to be trimmed. The 31 will work fine for me!

Yeah I think you might be right but I don't have much of a choice. As you can see by the pictures there is not a lot of length from the filler collar to where the pipe needs to bend 90. I am going to ask my buddy who does custom exhaust what the tightest radius he can make but I don't think it will be enough.

I was able to find a mandrel bent tubing company on the Internet that could bend me a 90 degree elbow with a 1.75" bend radius.

I'm very serious when I say this.

If you ever replace those mudflaps, I want the old ones. Western Hauler is local to me and my high school dream always was to have one of those bad boys. I'd like to have those mudflaps for a memento.

You might be in luck because I do plan to replace them with some new black ones!

Exactly. Modding the hanger got me almost 3/4" additional then with removing the leafs and the 4" hanger/shackle kit I totaled out right around 6" then I put the bed back on and lost another 1/2"

I like the stance! If I could level it out without a notch I would but it needs to serve it's purpose for existence and that is to tow my 30' boat. It's a good drop and will still be functional(especially with the air assist)

I went all beltech components. Front 3" drop spindle and 1" drop spring and the hanger kit in the rear along with beltech street performance shocks on all four corners. What are your going with? Do you already have the components?

I bought a western 6/8 Drop from Sport truck (but they scamed me only sent me drop shocks and 3inch Beltech spinals and closed shop) never got my springs or rear flip and notch.) So after some looking someone had a shackle and hanger set from beltech for a decent price shipped to my door. so now i have drop shocks, and beltech spindles and rear shackle and hanger set (going to mod the hanger like yours and alreay removed the springs. and cut 1-1 1/2 coils out of stock springs.) than i should be good to go
