Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
God I miss those reg plates. I have customized plates on my (now owned by ex wife) Tahoe "DUBLIN". I'm hoping to have "IRL-66" on my truck.

Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
My wife and I just took a couple weeks vacation in Ireland two months ago. Amazing and beautifull country, can't wait to go back. The whole right hand drive (left side of the road) thing was really not that hard to get used to, I really had a blast with it and I was driving a manual transmission too.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
Ha ha! I've done it. I went home after 4years here in the states and for the first day I had to think about it. But, if u wanna learn how to drive stick and how to drive fast on VERY narrow roads, you need to go to Ireland. The west and South produce some great rally cross drivers.

Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
I actually had more issues when I first got back stateside....Drove through the entire airport parking lot on the left side (my wife thought it was funny). Though I can't really remember, I'm sure I got a handfull of door panel a couple times. I tell you what, those small country roads were a little nerve racking sometimes, even for a country boy like me. But like I said above, I so cannot wait to go back.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
Probably going to get both driving well, and sell to upgrade later on. I have been rolling the short bed since I got it. The longbed has been sitting since 81, so I have got a little work to do on it. It has no sign what so ever of brakes, and the tank is full of dead gas. Won't take much though!

Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
Ya the pedals are in the same place. Not the controls on the column though. The car I drove had the turn signal arm on the right side and the wiper control on the left. Did the windshield wiper right turn several times. Better yet is driving a 3ott right hand drive. No fast shifts there. Busted knuckles on the side window kinda thing. LOL!!!!

New to the forum. This is my 65 Long bed 19 year on-going project. Always some improvement in process. Just rebuilt and replaced engine with a roller 383 stroker. Engine pictures coming soon.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
likaroc13, the color isn't pink. Its actually a original Chevrolet passenger car color from 1955. Its Coral and Shadow Grey. If your as old as I am, you may recall the color combination. A neighbor had a beautiful 1955 Belair when I was a kid. It seemed to fit my needs as a classic color combo.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
Yeah ! that's it! That's a good looking 55. Always loved the old color combos on shoebox Chevy's 55 thru 57's. The Coral color seemed to fit me.....kinda hides some body tweaks too. The body work on those long bed sides were a real pain to get straight.
Of course in hindsight, I wish I had brought the Shadow Grey all the way down to the window sills. Thanks Strodder I appreciate you taken the time and posting the 55 Bel Air. Imagine 18 years in build, and I just stumble on to this forum a couple of weeks ago. Been up to midnight a few evenings. Its great to be a new member. |

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
I owned this 56 Belair for 23 years that everybody thought it was that Turquoise color, but it a Chrysler Peacock Green, or a teal.
