Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
Probably the last shots before the cab goes back on. Brake lines next.

Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
Thanks for all the kind words, guys.

I didn't do anything to the front bumper yet, I think the glare is just making it look shaved. It will get done though. And now a little about the exhaust. It's all stainless from the headers back (including the mufflers and tips). The rear pipes were left long so I could adjust the tip position (the tips are just slipped onto the pipes at the moment). I'm not sure I have the rear bumper exactly were it goes, so I didn't want to have the tips permanently mounted. The mufflers are Hushpower II's, and have heat shields built right into them. I have not heard them yet, but here is what Summit has to say: "These Hushpower II mufflers are designed for use with street rods, customs, and sport trucks. They feature stainless steel construction with an internal, layered-laminar jet engine gas flow design that uses guided sound control with broadband sound cancellation for a mellow '50s tone. These Hushpower II mufflers support up to 400 hp, while delivering outstanding looks, durability, and sound control. Give your vehicle a unique, hot sound with a set of Hushpower II mufflers. " Hopefully it's not a bunch of BS. I've had flowmaster two chambers on everything I've ever owned, so hopefully theses are a nice, quiet alternative. |

Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
Chassis looks great! Theres not alot of "hush" to the hushpower mufflers, i ran them on my old Buick and they were alot louder than i thought...but thats not a bad thing!

Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
I was thinking a quiet exhaust might not be all bad, but I guess I won't be disappointed if they are louder than I expected. Thanks for the input!

Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
I don't know how this has slipped my mind all this time, but here is a rendering/photoshop that fellow member Boxrodz did for me a while back. I'm sure some have seen it, but I figured it kinda belonged in this thread.

Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
Thanks for the kind words again!!!
Not much to take pictures of today, but I did get all of the rear suspension buttoned up and all the bolts are tight. I also got the front end buttoned up as well, I just have a few cotter pins to put in and it will be ready to get aligned next time it leaves the shop (it may be a while). I also got the panhard bar adjusted for those of you that were questioning my drive shaft hoop clearance. All set now!! Last edited by smashingchuck; 12-07-2009 at 09:54 PM. |

Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
sweeeet.. heck, you could mount a seat on that frame and be set.. it looks awesome by itself lol. I never have been a fan of a chop top in most trucks, but for some reason that one looks awsome. .can't wait to see more

Here's what I was working on today. Still have a ways to go, but you get the idea. Also got the wiring harnesses for all the valves done and mostly installed, and have been starting to think about the A/C a little. Last edited by smashingchuck; 12-07-2009 at 09:56 PM. |
