Longswheel u a fan of 67-72 chevys? Got one? I got my build on chucks to but there is to much caring on there for me. ( like some of the avatars and language )This site is very kid friendly, i have the additude if my kids can't look at it i probably dont need to either.

I have a 1972 cheyenne super c-10 swb factory air. It was my daily driver in high school now it needs some work like hood and dripp rail. Florida moisture can kill a truck.

But i am now tryin to build a 1972 blazer on 5 ton. Four link, straight frame, 18.4-30 R2S

I originaly bought a 71 on 38's but it has way to much rust and i mean way to much rust. So i found a stock 72 blazer that i am now doin body work on. I am now buyin all my parts that i need so all i have to do iSbuild when it comes time. But two of my friends bobbY And joey from heavy metal fabrications ARE going to build the frame and do the final build. All i need now is the case and order the steel in.

Hey what kind of primer would you recommend using? I am new to the painting world and figured you would know best.

I am a Dupont man. Use all the same products. Example; primer, paint, clear, hardner, reducer. Make sure they are the same manufacture and are interchangeable. If you have clean bare metal etch prime first then 2k urthane. Dupont has an epoxy that has an etch in it. I put a coat of that down first then the 2k.

Leafs are alot cheaper and stiffer. The four link suspention will ride better and you get more wheel travel. The way I built my suspention would be very dangerous on the road. My lower bars are wider at the axle than they are at the frame. What this does is makes the axles walk. If the right front wheel hits a bump and goes up the wheel base on the left side shortens or vise versa. To keep this from happening you need to make your lower bars parallel to the ground. The two lower bars on each axle also need to be parallel to each other.

i have probably donated more hits to your build than any one . i have read over and over, the only part that makes me scratch my head was this comment you had made about when making road worthy. now i understand trucks at this magnatude of a build are not going to see 1,000 mile of highway or paved road life. this is your toy i completely understand. i look at your build and another build off of www.katkustoms.com/projects/ "DOMINATOR build" for inspiration/ideas and how things work. you said your bottom bars are wider at the base and if you hit a bump this causes one side to shorten. and being more parallel with the ground is important. i'm sure this could cause some bad walking if things are way outta wack......

so question time-- the "Dominators" bars are more parallel with the ground than yours, this i understand. BUT what is the highest you can go with your bars before things go bad. . you have not got to test drive this to make your statement true about your setup......BUT being in florida i am sure you have had your fair share of riding in the tall trucks and can spit more knowledge on me than i would even begin to image.

i would still like to have some ground clearance but do want to sacrifice safty...and just to learn. besides the close's i'm get to riding in a big truck is crawling up in my build (sofa king big 71') and making motor noises like i was 5yrs old all over again......
