Re: random 73-87 pic thread
hey ummm... is that a ZIP TIE on your leaf spring?
dude instead of fiberglass and spray paint, your truck might need some serious TLC... just my .02.... wait.. does anyone else see this leaf pack? is that an overload spring? why is there a "long" spring on teh very bottom of the front leaf pack? or am i just dumb and cross eyed...

Re: random 73-87 pic thread
Well, it's about time I had something to contribute to this thread. I was looking out my living room window and noticed how the light was hitting my truck. I decided to take a pic of it. You tell me, doesn't it look like an old Chevy Truck advertisement?

Re: random 73-87 pic thread
i have been out of the business for about 15 years, but i used to make a living with these trucks. this was in about 1994 (We loved the square bodies--especially 454s).
the square bodies had been "out of circulation" for 4 or 5 years. the round headlight truck is a '73. it made 10-15 calls a day until it met its demise to someone who pulled out in front of it. then we salvaged the 1973 bed and put it on an '84 GMC. seemed fitting as you cant get much more random than this pic. i am in the middle.

Re: random 73-87 pic thread
It was sweet, but it didn't belong posted here. I think the post got deleted. Ken has been keeping an eye on this thread, and warned of posts not related to 73-87 trucks.

Re: random 73-87 pic thread
my dad drove a 78 chevy wrecker in the 80s with stacks (you know, side pipes on their side) well the core would all blow out in a month and you'd have straight pipes. they called it the "Muffler Chomper" the way it ate though mufflers. the junkyard he worked at ran the truck for 11 years without plates or inspection stickers, just an USA-1 on the front lol
