Re: 76 Blazer build
Thanks patriot, still not going to sell the novas as the wife would kill me! Anyways, the kid is awesome. Huge change in life, but I couldnt imagine life without him. We took him to his first car show today, despite the scowl, he had a good time.
The axle is in the K5 now and the brakes are bled. Getting ready to spray bedliner inside the cab now.

Beautiful boy Russ!!! I know you need to keep your father-in-laws cars. Can't knock a guy for trying. Take care brother and give that little man lots of poppa time. They make the best friends.

Re: 76 Blazer build
Kids give meaning to your life. Keep spending time with the kid - even if it costs the time you would have spent on your truck - they are that important.

Re: 76 Blazer build
I agree.
My brother in law came over on Saturday and we shot the floor with raptor liner. Still wet in the pics and I'll get some better pics later.

Re: 76 Blazer build
Very! What type/brand of paint are you using? When do you plan to have it painted?

Re: 76 Blazer build
Also, you may have answered this, but what color are you painting it?

Re: 76 Blazer build
Thanks guys! I am using eastwood's american white, single stage urethane.
I know, I was going to paint it the original green but after seeing a jimmy that was about the same color, I just didnt like it. The plan now is white, but the top and roof of the cab will be flat black (bed liner). If things go right I will be painting it this weekend, at least the tub anyway.

Re: 76 Blazer build
Hey whatever you like! Looking forward to seeing it done! Is this something you have done before? Or have you been gathering painting information up to this point with regard to the steps of the process, sand paper grits, flash times etc?

Re: 76 Blazer build
I have sprayed primers before but this is my first attempt at paint. I have gathered alot of info from friends that are painters over the years, but as far as flash/ sanding requirements, the info sheets have been helpful.

Re: 76 Blazer build
excellent job so far.......impressed.
Any advise for doing the inner rockers? I just picked up an 81 2wd that they will need to be addressed and never dug into those before...will be a new territory for me. Keep up the great work, inspiring for sure.

Re: 76 Blazer build
Sprayed some color last night, turned out Ok. I am going to color sand it after I get the doors and fenders done, but I think that it turned out better than I expected.
Also brought one of the novas home to put in a better storage spot.

Re: 76 Blazer build
You are doing a great job with this truck. I'd also have done full quarters if I were going to do mine over. I got a 76 Blazer for a parts rig to keep my 75 full convertible going. It took a good shot in the nose but so far it has been a gold mine for all the little things that nobody has around here on the Island anymore. I think it would have been cool to do it all original but the white will look good too. let me know what you think of sound levels and heat inside the cab with the spray on liner. I might throw insulation and carpet in my truck if I can figure out a way to keep the water out
