Re: Little Body Work on the Blazer/Tub
Just throwing a dart, but I wouldn't think it would add over a hundred lbs. I suppose you could weigh the liner and mat before applying and get a pretty accurate idea...

They're sending a total of eight gallons of the stuff, couldn't be more than 100lbs total additional, not a big deal really now that I think about it. Last edited by vtblazer; 10-13-2009 at 05:16 AM. |

Re: Little Body Work on the Blazer/Tub
if you lay all the lizards head to tail, discounting the tail, as there isn't much skin area, total lenght and width should be an exact demension! Now, get the weight of each skin and divide
or do as low'n slow says and multiply

Re: Little Body Work on the Blazer/Tub
Jim, you would need to multiply the weight of each skin times the number of lizardskins to get the total weight, but I agree, not too much weight to worry about.

Re: Little Body Work on the Blazer/Tub
Maybe overkill but I took things even a little further...
With the dash area emptied out, I decided to go ahead and POR all the 'very minor' surface rust that I could find under there. Took care of the little bit in the firewall side of the cowl too. Messy, messy, messy... |

Re: Little Body Work on the Blazer/Tub
POR is AWESOM!!
I used "silver" inside my rockerboxes before I welded my sliders on to "fill" the heavier rusted areas. That stuff is amazing how it bubbles as it works the rust. then drys nice and smooth & hard. I used the black on the inside of my hood and rad core.

Re: Little Body Work on the Blazer/Tub
Not paint yet but at least the last coat of primer is done, allows me to move onto the spray in liner soon. I'm pretty satisfied with the way it all came together, looks like any other blazer now...in stead of 3. Last edited by vtblazer; 10-14-2009 at 05:03 PM. |

OK - now that the bodywork on this one is done - where does the line start for you to do the rest of our Blazers?

Yeah, I expect so. I'm sure the trails I take it on will be a wee bit more tame. I got interested about 4-wheeling because of 'trekking' but somehow got sucked into the more hard core end of it for awhile, I want to start taking trips and camping now. More 'point to point' & 'destination' kind of wheeling. Last edited by vtblazer; 10-17-2009 at 04:30 PM. |
