Re: My Crewcab Shortbed
The old Geo Metro 1.0 3cyl engines got almost 50mpg. That would look HAWT in your rig, plus it would give you a TON of space under the hood to detail.

Re: My Crewcab Shortbed
what about the Chevrolet Sprint.with a Turbo but this may cut down on the room under the hood for detailing purposes and also may affect the mpg just a thought

You could talk to Keith.Seymour and see if he could get you an inside track on a setup from the Chevrolet Volt program he's working on.

Re: My Crewcab Shortbed
Alright everyone I made it back safe thank God. I went and loaded everything up. We loaded up the truck the winch didn't work so I had to use the comealong. What a pain in the arse. Then we loaded up the cucv front clip and rear springs on the rear of the crew cab. Well I got on the interstate with it and evidently there was waaaaay too much weight on the rear of the trailer. It started fishtailing and the truck was swaying back and forth. I really thought the truck was gonna flip on it's side and I was gonna lose it all. Well I got it under control and readjusted the load and it pulled straight the rest of the way home. We still took our time just to be sure. I honestly think if the truck wasn't a 1 ton HD crewcab with a loaded down service bed, it would have flipped seriously. I've never been that scared on the road. It was in the middle of traffic too. Pissed quite a few people but I didn't know it was gonna do that.
Anyways I'm home safe and everything else is safe and intact. I'll take pics tomorrow of it. It's still outside on the trailer. I gotta finish cleaning out the garage, get the cab off and push the chassis into the garage and start stripping it. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: My Crewcab Shortbed
Ok so here's some pictures for the hungry lol. It's still on the trailer and tied down but you can see that the trailer is parked in the crew cabs old spot. So it is home again. It won't be worked on in the back yard this time though. This time I'm gonna get it down to a roller and do a frame up restoration. Everything will be new or in working order. It'll also get a 6.0/4l80e combo. I'm going to be selling my diesel here shortly as soon as I can get the blazer running. I'm going to be converting the crewcab to 5 lug and using the coys, lowering stuff, and the rear disc kit that I bought for the diesel on the crew. I don't know whether the crew is going to stay red or not. It got a little beat up in the move to NC and back so it needs a repaint anyways. What color do y'all think would look good. Here's the pics

Re: My Crewcab Shortbed
Lol I could have gotten the bed but it was full of scrap metal. And it was just me and Josh. We didn't have enough muscle to get it up there.

Re: My Crewcab Shortbed
Thanks Josh. It got a little hairy there for a minute lol.
I forgot to add that I also got the cucv 1 ton front clip and rear suspension from Josh also. Tha suspension will be going on a frame I have and tht will get turned into a truggy so I can go do some rock crawling. Thats gonna be a project way down the road. Hopefully it'll be together by the time my son's old enough to go crawling with me. And he's only 6 months old so I have a little bit of time to get it together lol Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: My Crewcab Shortbed
Man, I thought I had a lot of projects! I'm glad to see you got it back. Although I was kind of hoping we'd see it be 4x4 and not another dropped CC SWB. But it is yours so build it how you want it. Either way, I'm sure it'll turn out sweet!

Re: My Crewcab Shortbed
Thanks Ryan. I was gonna lift the crew and keep the diesel but I had 4 hours to think about it last night and I figured I don't need the diesel. It won't haul the whole family around so it's going bye bye. And since the diesel is going up for sale, I have all the stuff sitting in the garage that was going to go on it in need of a home. So the crew will get the treatment instead.
