Re: 1968 Gmc ground up restoration
Prepped and put a nice thick coat of sand-able primmer. Now comes the fun of sanding smooth.

Paint booth has been dismantled and it is time for assembly. Today we started with assembly of the box and the wood bed has 4 coats of polyurethane and started the fifth coat today.

Re: 1968 Gmc ground up restoration
Question about your paint booth:
The pic of the fans would be the intake right? and is it heated? want to get an idea how your heating the air? I'm trying to build a mini paint booth about 5X6' in my garage. Thanks!

Re: 1968 Gmc ground up restoration
i used the fans for exhaust i had filters at the other end for intake and used my shop heater to get the paint booth to 70-75 degrees

Re: 1968 Gmc ground up restoration
OH, so in post #189 looks like you have filters covering the fans and are pulling the air thru with additional filters on the opposite side for intake?

Re: 1968 Gmc ground up restoration
If you haven't done all the underdash wiring yet, you might benefit to keep the wheel off a while longer. Stick a tennis ball on the threaded shaft so you don't brain anyone on it, but it gives you a lot more room to work without the huge wheel. Just a thought from doing mine.
And, since I'm burning a post, you likely know but don't tighten down all the bed strips until they're all in and the bed is checked for square.

Re: 1968 Gmc ground up restoration
You fellas are doing a great job. Love the color. Also like the cab / dash / sound insulation. Keep up the good work. Giving me lots of great ideas for my old truck.
