complete 6 cylinder

This is a running 6 cylinder from my 1968 GMC. It has a HEI distributor. It does leak oil from the front crankshaft seal. It smoked a small amount when first started. Local pickup only. $200 Sorry I do not know how to post pics.

Re: complete 6 cylinder

can you email me some pic of the carb set-up

brian mac 02-25-2009 09:37 AM

Re: complete 6 cylinder

The oil pressure fitting is just a sensor for the dash light (one wire connector) is that what you need?

I do not know how to email or post pics. I have a digital camera but I am computer "challenged" . The carb is a holley reman monojet.

How much for the HEI distributor, spark plug wires, and HEI power wire shipped to 87107? Basically the entire HEI system.

Re: complete 6 cylinder

how about 75.00 shipped on the hei setup. Let me check and make sure it has the proper connector for the power wire

Re: complete 6 cylinder

Which inline 6 is it? 230, 250 or 292? 292 is the only one with the motor mount between the fuel pump & distributor. All the others have the fuel pump & mount reversed. Might help it sell if ppl know what it is.

Yeah LMK and yeah which inline 6 is it? I don't think it matters for me with the HEI set-up, but I'm sure people would like to know. Mine is a 250.

It does not have the proper connector for the power wire. I am told these are available at most local parts stores.

I don't exactly know, but I'm sure one of the old-timers will chime in. Take a picture of it. Here is what my 250 looks like.

BM,
Got a casting numbers off of the block? That would tell folks what inline 6 it is. VIN number would help if the motor is original to he truck. Might help the sale.

Re: complete 6 cylinder

Block # indicates this is a 250cid from a passenger car 1966-1979. Got the info from "Chevrolet Inline Six-Cylinder Power Manual". Don't see any info to decode the dist pad # but it does indicate where the block was cast & it's dress (comp ratio & accessories).
