i was wondering how many lbs of powder do you think i need to do my wheels black? my shop class has the oven and gun but those bast#rds are making me pay for the powder also should i do em silver vein or 95% gloss black? there the same wheels in the pic 16.5x10.75:)

You will not need much. I bought 50lbs of red and have done my entire frame, rearend, radiator support, and many small pieces and still have enough left to do my inner fenders and various other parts. Problem is, it is hard to buy the powder in small amounts. You might check Eastwood and see if they can sell small amounts. I would think 5lbs would do your wheels with no problem.

Oh, I would go with black over the silver vein.

yea i got the eastwood catolog 5 lbs is $45 so it fair. alot better that sitting and polishing for days on end. o yeah what about chrome smoke powder looks cool.

I paid $150 for 50lbs, but it is like anything...the more you buy the cheaper. Eastwood has some cool colors to choose from, if you buy a little extra you could tie the color on the wheels in with some small parts on the truck like your radiator hold downs or hood latch, hinges etc.

They have a different selection than Eastwood at much more reasonable prices. I've used there stuff and eastwoods and I like thier's better. So unless Eastwood has a color that these guys don't (rarely, just call Brian and he will hook you up if he can), I go with them.

i dont know about powdercoating, BUT i know that black ralleys are bad ass on our trucks!

You should get 25 square feet at a minimum out of a pound of powder. With the front and backs of the wheels, I don't think you could use more than 2 lbs max. Compare that to quality paint prices, if you are feeling bad.

Minibike is right it will only take between one and two pounds of powder. If you get two pounds of powder then you will have extra (I figure at least 1/2 of a pound). Go with 70Jimmy's website, that company by far has the best prices and getting a better selection all the time.

what should i do with the extra powder im getting 5 lbs?

If you have already ordered it, then just donate the extra to the class or try to use some of it. It will be more gloss black than you will ever need. Oh when using that high of gloss it better be very clean surface or any piece of dust or lint will show up.

I had the same dilemma between black and silver. Went with black. I had to pay $200 to get mine blasted and coated. If i had aluminum slots, I would consider getting them polished.

i like the sleeper look on that truck. bet the bb gives plenty of power to back it up too.:burnout: what whould polishing cost? ive done parts on my quad and it a b*tch
