My 67 had the same piece of sound deadener glued to the roof skin above the front seat under the headliner.

Good idea on the lizard skin thermal barrier. That much Dynamat would cost me more than I paid for the Suburban

I'm thinking a thin flexible ABS plastic sign material covered in perforated vinyl to mimic the look of the original perforated headliner boards. Luckily the mice left enough of mine to use them as templates for proper fit.
