Re: ECE vs CPP disk brake swap kits
I have built and lowered a lot of trucks with ECE stuff in the past. It's top notch stuff.
Now, the guys quoting cheaper prices by piecing the parts together. It is cheaper to do it that way, but remember, ECE kits include brand new parts like prop valve (that's 100 bucks right there) and master cylinder. Apples to apples here. One guy used a junkyard prop valve (nothing wrong with that) and then the 25 dollar parts store master cylinder is going to be a reman unit (again, not knocking that either) while ECE sends you a brand new one. With the ECE kit, all you need is a 3 dollar bucket of wheel bearing grease and a can of brake fluid. You don't need drill bits, taps or dies, grinder, swap ball joints or the like. I'm not knocking the cheaper way. I do it myself that way sometimes. But, if you want to open the box and install the kit without any hassles, ECE is the choice. You will pay more for it though. It's your choice.

Re: ECE vs CPP disk brake swap kits
I have to agree w/ Kevin.
We recently did the ECE disc brake upgrade on my '69 and it was as simple as could be expected. Everything was there, no questions about that. The only problem we had with the install was the M/C cap was slightly bent which caused it to leak. One call to Mark/Stan and a new one was at the door within 3 days, no questions asked. I have never ordered from CPP but with the experiences several of the board members have had, I will stick with ECE. Slightly higher price but excellent customer service, you can call them with any question (because these trucks are what they know, not an assortment of vehicles), excellent products... and the list goes on. Once you buy from them, you will never question the money spent again.
