Re: 99 Silverado seats I just purchased
I'd never be able to drive with seats that big, good thing I don't need to worry about that since it's yours

Re: 99 Silverado seats I just purchased
I have a set of deluxe seats out of a '02 Silverado Duramax. They are very comfortable. I mounted mine a little forward of the "hump" by fabbing up some .75" and 1.25" stand-offs. I then used 4 x 4 x 1/4" reinforcing plates underneath, combine that with 1/2" grade 8 bolts....I don't think they're going anywhere. I did notice that my ample gut was a bit close to the wheel, so I shortened my column "Putter"-style! I also added a late model S10 steering wheel w/ almost zero dish, which helped out too.

Re: 99 Silverado seats I just purchased
When I installed my seats on the humps it came out like this. I plan on cutting and rewelding the brackets on the center seat to get it to line up better.

Re: 99 Silverado seats I just purchased
guys this post is almost 5 years old. Yukon is still around and posting strong, so he will likely see it. In the future just start a new thread asking the question, so it doesnt get lost and overlooked on ya

Re: 99 Silverado seats I just purchased
Back when I did these seats I had a follow-up post showing them installed. Anyway, here the seats are installed. I sure like them but they do move you forward so you loose some valuable leg space!
![]() ![]() ![]() You can hardly tell I have brackets under the carpet and insulation to assist with mounting these seats. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: 99 Silverado seats I just purchased
Here are some pics of the brackets I made/used
![]() ![]() ![]() Then I have two additional plates that both go perpendicular to this plate. One is about 5" wide and connects the front seat bracket to the rear seat bracket nearest to the transmission. Then I have a plate that is about 1 1/2" wide that connects the front seat bracket to the rear seat bracket nearest to the door. My intent is that with these brackets tied together from the bottom of the floor to the top of the floor, I have reinforced the floor where the seats bolt in. Here are the brackets I am using under the floor to attempt to reinforce the floor - they tie into the brackets above the floor. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Although this is the way I chose to install these seats, I obviously am not an engineer and would recommend you give serious thought to how to securely mount this type of seat. ![]()
