The heater control had been broken in the past and rigged back together.

Kevin, while I am waiting word on the wheel tubs...is the wiring harness in good shape (both inside and engine compartment)? Any damage or PO hack jobs evident? If in decent shape, and you can remove it easily enough without enflicting further damage, consider me interested in that as well.

Bigblock, I kept the harness to scavenge for my 63 project.

About the wheel tubs. I haven't had any offers on the bed yet, so if you want them, they are yours. Now, how do I go about shipping them to you ? I think I could get them to you via UPS oversize. They aren't real delicate, so boxing them up bombproof shouldn't be too necessary.

Re: Parting out clean 1980 model Chevy truck

Kevin, just to be sure these aren't any worse than the ones I have, can you take a couple pics and verify their condition? You don't need to pull them for this, as I would hate to see you waste your time if they are not what I am after.

And as far as shipping. Just stack them up, tape them together (duct tape perhaps), and wrap them in some cardboard.

I have found Fedex Ground to be real cheap for big parts...but don't know much about UPS oversize. I suggest boxing them up, getting the shipping data, and use their online quotes...they seem to be fairly accurate.

My zip is 55448 (residential), and I still need an asking price for them.

I am bummed about the harness...but understand.

Re: Parting out clean 1980 model Chevy truck

Here are 9 pictures of the wheel wells. They are nice. Damn nice. No rust other than surface rust on them here and there. They are solid and worth your time to get them shipped.

I'm not trying to make any real money here. I have already broke even on this truck and got the parts I needed for my project. So, price is 20 bucks plus shipping. I can do Fedex if you feel it will be cheaper. Fair enough ?

Re: Parting out clean 1980 model Chevy truck

Kevin, they look very close to what I currently have. Please give me a day to double check and get back to you...if that works.

That truck was definately used as a truck. I like the no rust deal, but the dents are why I am second guessing. Unless I am seeing things?

The truck has now left the building and gone to the great scrap metal yard in the sky. Thanks everybody.
