Re: Project "Steppin Wolf" LS swap

nope. its been on the back burner while Ive been spending all my money on christmas for the kiddos.....all four of them, lol. Im sending some parts to aknovaman for testing as soon as i get payed again. When we get it figured out Ill definately post up so others who may run into this wont have to go through all this frustration.

If all your wiring is good, you may have a bad throttle body. I replace a lot of those in my shop. Very possible it was bad.
Id get a reputable harness and pedal assembly setup.

Are you on LS1tech? Lots of knowledgeable people on there, sign up and make a thread explaining your problem. Could be something simple.

Just for the record, i had considered this but the fact that it was operating properly while the truck wasnt running ruled this out.

Re: Project "Steppin Wolf" LS swap

Had problems similar to yours, on my 5.3L swap. Did everything to check for problems and couldn't find anything wrong. Even had a gent come over with his HPTunes setup. He got the truck to run, but it still wasn't right. Turned out I had a bad PCM. Replaced that, and the difference was like night and day. My truck runs great now. I know what it's like to be in your shoes. Frustration is too mild of a word. Good luck, and don't give up

Its fixed. Harness and file in pcm were jacked up. Liltroy can post burnout pics.

Re: Project "Steppin Wolf" LS swap

Aknovaman you're a friggen genius!!!! I've never wanted to hug a man until today!!! Lol. Steppin Wolf is running like a beast!! I spent 20 minutes getting my rear chewed but one of my LEO neighbors because I got excited and set the back tires ablaze.
I'm recommending Aknovaman and PCM Performance to anyone I hear of that's doing this swap!! He fixed my harness and fixed the sorry excuse for a tune I payed for as well. It was all in the tune guys. I'll let Anthony explain what was causing the problem if he so wishes. Now that I'm motivated again, I've got a lot of work to do so I can legally drive this thing on the road again!! Still have to get exhaust and figure out the custom fuel filler for the blazer tank swap. Also need to sand and POR15 the back of my frame before I reinstall the bed.....then the bodywork starts.

Re: Project "Steppin Wolf" LS swap

great truck. SOrry it had to sit so long running badly. Any further info on what was wrong with the harness and tune? i am kinda shocked at what you said you paid for the harness work and it didnt even come with a fuse block and relays? glad thats all figured out. Did you end up putting a different harness on it?

Re: Project "Steppin Wolf" LS swap

I started over and built a custom harness with relays, fuse panel, obd2 port and blue LED check engine light. It turned out nice. His harness was a total mess. I used one of my tunes and tailored it to his mods. Now all is good.

No power braking necessary...just stomp the go pedal and it doesn't hook till you lift, lol. Guess I need some suspension work next.

Lets try this again. See if this link works of his bad harness. He added the relays as original guy did not add them.

Congrats on getting it running! Sucks about the harness, I hope you're able to get at least some of your money back.

Re: Project "Steppin Wolf" LS swap

His vendor will never give a refund; tried several times on different harnesses and tunes. He does, however, offer free tunes for life........... for what good that is, I will never know.

Does anyone know of a website where I can take a picture of my truck and see it in different paint colors?

Kinda generic color renderings of specific paint colors? I can play around in photoshop if you just want basic colors.
