Re: What did you get done? 04/15
Tried to install a HVAC control into my 75. This is the 3rd one I've bought. Like the rest of them, it didn't hook up with the existing HVAC plumbing. Sure the h... is frustrating. I wound up pulling my existing control and completely washing the 30 years of grime off and then taking the fan motor switch from the new and put on the old. What i really wanted was the faceplate as mine was crinkled and faded and the last part of my interior in need of a fix.
I tried to use silicon to afix the faceplate to no avail!! I did wind up getting lucky as the bezel fits tightly against the faceplate to keep it from moving. I feel much better knowing my interior is now fully revamped. Also went to the parts store to find something to trim up the wiring in my engine bay. Wasn't real happy with the standard options. went to Lowes and Home depot and looked through the plumbing and electrical departments to see if I could find a better alternative. NOT Oh well, there's always next weekend................gary |

Also spent 3 days at the Portland Swap Meet. Didn't get any work done on my current project, almost came home with this, didn't and now I can't get it out of my head................

Re: What did you get done? 04/15
finished rebuilding my new (off ebay) 600 cfm holley carb, just in time for my lifters to tell me that they are tired of being wedged (from me running 113 octane at low country speed way,.,.,.yea, that was a big bad no no on my part lol). uhh....put the strobes in my side markers and backup lenses, so now I can screw with ppl while I drive,.,.,.or get added attention at Aviation Square on Saturday nights (can't wait till I get her painted, that will really set it off!).
slept in on saturday, realized that I had an infection in my cheek,.,.so I doped out on aspirin till the swelling was gone and multi-vitamined myself till I was seeing weird colors. sunday...uhh....dont remember much of it...but Im sure it was fun

Re: What did you get done? 04/15
Little late on this but...
Thursday and Friday I drove the Suburban and Friday afternoon I had it aligned and the tires balanced/rotated. Sunday I replaced the power motor on the passenger side that was slow, but didn't get it finished because it got too cold and started raining. I did get the window/motor back in though.

Re: What did you get done? 04/15
That was the most important part of the installation given the weather .

Re: What did you get done? 04/15
ZZ Top !
I drove back to Austin and saw ZZ Top at The Backyard. My friends and I waited at the doors for an hour and a half but we were at the front of the line. When the doors opened we rushed over to the stage and got spots at the very front right up against the rail. Couldn't have asked for a better spot to be. The show was great though and the weather was perfect. Last edited by Pyrotechnic; 04-17-2007 at 10:28 PM. |
