Rocker Box Caps ?
I have repalcements I need to install. I honestly do not know alot about their purpose and was wondering what I am looking at. Is it a simple swap or is their more to it ? I am curious since they have 14 bolts each and it makes me think that they are supporting the box in some way. Do I need to support the box itself when I take the caps off ?
Sorry, this is all new and I don`t need to create more problems. PS, any hint as to what I can put on the bolts to help loosen them up ? I have already snapped 3 out of the 7 I took off, so I stopped and decided to ask you guys before I continued. Bret |

I would just unbolt the old ones and bolt in the new ones. I find putting a torch on bolts helps to loosen them up.

Yup, what Gee Emm said. First buy some good penetrating oil, found at any auto parts store, and really soak them good. Several times if needed, be patient and give it time to soak in and work. If the bolts are still stubborn after that give it the old torch treatment.

I would take a wire brush to them too it helps loosen the rust and dirt from around them.
