By the same token, expensive doesn't always mean better quality. I'm not knocking AirRide...Brett is a great guy and they make a great product. But when quality is equal (as is the case here), I'll take the less expensive option. Of course, if you're happy with AirRide, by all means stick with them. They do make nice stuff, no doubt about it.

AirRide does have that sweet BigRed Air Valve I like. I'll be ordering it from them unless I can find a comparable piece (or have my own made).

And to answer the question about brackets for the rear of a coil spring truck, the answer is no. Drill two mounting holes on the frame, enlarge the hole where the spring bolted on, and bolt the bag in place. Of course, AirRide sells a bracket kit if you want.

Going with the $60 bracket/cup combo from suicidedoors, which should I order? Single port or dual port? I'm really that clueless on this. Thanks

That directly relates to what bags you buy. Airlift has a dual port bag which means that you can feed two airlines to it if you wish. Single port means that only one line will feed the bag. The benefit of having dual lines is that you can run one as a fill line and one as an exhaust line. Not sure if it's worth the price. single port is probably what 95% of all bag systems are comprised of.

imo, dual port is kinda dumb because you can just run a Y adapter. I dont think its worth the price either. Single port with the Y doesnt make your system any slower because youre either going in, or your going out.

plumbing it that way...it doesn't make a difference...however if you run two fills...one for each port of dual nitrogen bottles it'll hop the front end a couple feet off the ground...if that's your thing.

Okay, thanks guys. Definitely not interested in hopping. Cruising the strip is fine with me. Guess I'll go order me a set.

I am also interested in more info on bags. My truck is badly in need of new suspension and ive been torn between a static drop, coilovers and bags. I understand static dropping and have done it many times before on cars but ive never had to drop a car 6" inches so im new to the bags and dont really understand them at all, is there a place where i can get info in lamens terms?

Also, i live in DFW TX and i noticed that a few guys on this thread are running bags on their c10's near me ..... would any of you be willing to let me check out your truck and take a ride with you?

I'm close, but my truck that has bags on the rear is not able to drive (so I can't offer a test drive). I can help w/installation issues if you need though.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Is the air bag system fuctioning or is the truck apart? I would like to just see a sytem on these trucks in something other than a picture and talk to someone who can explain what all is involved in setting one up and maintaining it. If your willing to let me come check out you system i would love to come see it.

No, the truck is put together so you can see how it all works. I just can't give you a test ride. I can give you a ride in my 74 to give you an idea. It's close . . ..... just not as good as my 68, + the 68's rear suspension is adjustable for weight increases.

Hey scoti, i'll pm you about coming out to take a look sometime. Bags seem like the way to go for sure in the rear and if i can figure it all out i might just bag the whole thing.
