Blazer Hatch Lock HELP Needed
My double wall hatch is locked open. I have no key. I only have an ignition key for my Jimmy. I would like to buy a set of locks and keys. Does the door key open the hatch? Is there a code somewhere for the keys? How can I get it open? Has anyone else had to deal with this? I am open to any ideas.
Thanks, LT |

My ignition/door key works the lock on the hatch of my '72. I would take it to a locksmith and have them fix and re-key it.

So the ignition, doors and hatch all use the same key?

One key for everything in my very original '72. My '69 has separate keys for the door and ignition. I have never actually put the top on the '69 so I've never checked to see if either key works in the hatch lock. I suppose it is possible that a PO re-keyed the hatch to work with the door/ignition key, but it is very nice to only have to carry one key.

If I buy a set of door lock and ignition keys and lock, a locksmith should be able to re-key the hatch to match, right?

I would think so. You may want to check with the locksmith before dropping $ on a new door and ignition key set. Also, I think it is Chevy Duty that lists a key set that also includes a glove box lock. It would be nice to be able to lock something up when the top is off.

I think I'll do the Chevy Duty deal and take my chances with a locksmith on the hatch.
Thanks Guys LT |
