[Pics]Fuel Cell Install!
I'll just post a teaser pic of the finished product right now, I need to resize all the pictures when I get home from work.
All in all, it was a pretty easy job. Made it easier that my friend already had the correct size square tubing/angle iron for the job. Also, you DO have to notch the rear bed support, to clear the sending unit! We notched it 5"wide x 2"high. EDIT: The VERY bottom of the sump, is 11½" off the ground. |

Man I think it looks great! I am glad to see that your truck is finally coming together. Now with the paint comming all you need to do is bag it.

You got it nice and high............VERY good idea.
That has got to be much safer than GM's design. |

That's an old plate you got there. Is it the original one?

Bagged81, Yep, factory issued plate. Going to be replacing it soon though, with a personalized one. Thanks for all the compliments guys. I must say, that with this new cell, the gas guage is PERFECTLY STILL! Even when going over a BUMPY road, the needle doesn't bounce AT ALL. The only thing left to do, is figger out what I wanna use for a gas door, so people don't syphon my gas out, or worse yet, put something IN my gas. The weight transfer difference is DEFINATELY noticeable. |
