Well, it's 4 AM, but the Chevy roars to life once again!

I'm tired, my hands and arms are covered in cuts and scrapes, and I think I swallowed some dirt that fell off my frame; but my exhaust is again in one piece, and the truck is alive!

A little back story, after I got the truck back from the tranny guy and the exhaust manifolds were cracked, I called my Dad. He immediately went to work on the tranny guy.. and whaddya know, a couple days later I get a call.. "I'm looking for some replacement manifolds for you." About a week later, I get another call, and he says he's got two new ones. Great!

Got 'em last night, decent manifolds. Got home about 11 PM.. and of course I had to go put them on. I figured I'd be done in an hour or so. Wrong! 4 hours and hundreds of profanities later, they are FINALLY in. I thought I was gonna have to drop my starter at one point, but a prybar got me around that.

Anyway, just drove it around a bit, it seems to be OK. Running a little funny, but maybe that's just because it sat for a couple weeks. I'm really hoping none of my valves are warped.. Exhaust quieted down a bit from the new manifolds, too.

Anyway, I won't get any sleep tonight and work is gonna be busy tomorrow, but I'm happy!

So, fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate'er befalls...
Then gently rise and softly call
Goodnight and joy be to you all!

Great that the tranny guy replaced them, from the last post on this issue, didn't sound like that was going to happen.

I'm one of those guys that works on my truck from about 9 pm to whenever I get finished and I can never resist going for a spin in the middle of the night once I get a project done. Wife probably thinks I'm crazy when she sees the taillights drive by the house at those late hours.

Congrats! Only a couple of hundred profanities? Must have went smoother than normal! About my only time to work on my truck is at night, after work, family etc. It's getting to the point where the neighbor will ask what I did to it last night, since they heard it start up in the middle of the night. My test drives will probably have to stop though, since it's starting to wake my boys up when I start it up.

I always seem to fire mine up in the middle of the night also... my shop is at a friend's grandmother's house...and she really gets on to us for starting them up in the middle of the night...maybe it's because every time we have done it.. it has been open headers!! not that my truck is much quieter with mufflers.
