NP205 Shifter

Looking for a shifter for a NP205. Do I have to find one specifically for a 205 or will any others work?

Thanks in advance.

It's called golf because all the other four letter words were taken.

It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

There was a guy on the parts board a couple of days ago with one. If you can't find one.... you might try give mane's truck parts out of kc if they got one.... last time I was there, he had a couple. He has a bunch of used parts.

You don't want one from a 70 unless you change your high hump. Not sure if the 73 and up is the same as the 71/72.

I have two and if memory serves, they pretty much look identical. One was from a '70 GMC suburban (says the guy who sold it to me) and the other is from an '80 K20. I will go dig around in the garage for them to make sure, if no one else can answer this.

I don't mean to hijack this post, but if Orangeuavol does not want the shifter from the 80 k20 (np205) let me know what you want for it.
Deal with him first and if he passes on it, PM me.

JIMs70GMC,

Do you know the reason for the difference between a 205 shifter from a 70 versus 71-72?

Bob

If Orangeuavol passes on this (this is his thread), PM me and let me know how much you want for this. Deal with Orangeuavol first, though, cause he is first in line.

Orangeuavol,

Please let me know by today (December 23rd) if you are interested in the shifter. Otherwise I am going to offer it to Phuloi68. The price is $75 and I will pay up to $10 of the shipping cost, anything over that will be passed on to whomever buys it.

Thanks,

Phil

BobS, I think they tried to keep the shifter in the same spot as the rockwell shifter, which was right at the back of the drivers right leg. In 71 they moved it to the pass side.
