WTB: Power Steering Line
I need the steel return line coming out of the steering gearbox returning fluid to the reservoir. The flare on mine is shot and it leaks. I have the 70's (Saginaw?) type.
Thanks, Sonny |

Will Check. Last time I checked there they couldn't find it. I guess I will check online first. Thanks for the info.

Usually, on a return line, all the parts store sell is the rubber section with a new hose clamps. They expect you to reuse the metal stub that screws into the box.
I've had to scrounge the metal part from a junkyard before.

The problem is around here, the closest salvage yard that has 67-72 truck a plentiful is in Conyers. I guess I will have to make a trip up there today.

You can use one off of a truck up through the 70's. They will all work until the lines went to the o-ring type of seal. When you unscrew it from the box with your line wrench, it will be obvious what type of seal it uses, a flare (like your truck) or an o-ring like the later trucks.
I believe the change was around 80ish. I know my 77 Blazer still uses the same line with flare seal.

I just checked a couple yards around here and no luck. Every one that I found was already gone. Guess I will have to get one made. Oh well...
Thanks, Sonny |
