Show me the way!
OK here's the deal... I am starting my project up again and had some questions for you suspension guys out there.. I have a 68 GMC 1/2ton with 6 lug drums all the way around cut coils and some old saggy leaf springs in the back.I am keeping the 6 lug and getting 4 wheel disc brakes... Basically I want the truck low but I still want it to handle decently and still be able to run it down the track every so often. How can I do that if I decide to bag the truck? Or should I just play it safe and go with a 3/4 or 4/6 drop? I know very little about modifying suspension and even less about air bags. Is there stuff on market so you can run a basic air bag setup and still have good handling and still be able to have some fun? And what are all you guys doing to beef up your rear end suspension? If so please let me know.
By the way any of you heard anything about CPP? I think Im gonna order that Grand Slam front end package for my disc brakes.. THANKS EVERYONE! |

Bagged truck handles and rides better a feel. I have CCPs bolt on rear c-notch. With leafs in the back I'm not sure, but you should be able to remove a few leafs, add bags, and a sway bar, and you'll be straight. Early Classic has arguably the best drop kits available.
